The main point of a flight simulator is flying, it’s so sad that you can’t get it to fly when it’s released. Hardly low FPS, still image Party, stuttering AF and this for +80 $. I really don’t feel like it. It starts again like with msfs2020 where you have to watch 100 tweak videos so that you can …

The most frustrating thing is, you never know if its something on your side, a “bug” in FS24 or just the servers having issues… To deal with a simulator, where stable performance and reliability is key for a great experience, is just very frustrating… Lets see where we end up in a few months from h…

As someone metioned, I’ve detected a little improvement in my frames increasing rolling cache from the default 16gb to 75gb. That not solve the massive FPS reduction (from mostly high-ultra to medium to obtain almost the same rate), but at least the performance seems more stable and less stuttery.

[image] nhc150: it would be interesting to see if large L3 cache still results in such a massive performance uplift. I finally fixed some hardware problems I was having, and I’ll be able to to a test that might answer that. I have a 7950X3D and I can use Process Lasso to assign the sim to ei…

[image] BegottenPoet228: When dedicated VRAM is used up, Windows will use Virtual RAM Actually your GPU can use up to half of your system RAM to extend the VRAM workspace / buffer. But obviously if you only have 32GB of DDR RAM, then your GPU will compete for that RAM with your OS + MS2024 it…

Same here, top of line PC, can’t even break 30 fps on low settings.

As well as reducing all the graphics “advanced settings” in the sim to no more than “Medium”, I also limit ‘render scale’ to 100% - in conjunction with TAA. (Anyway, there is absolutely no point at all in setting render scale to more than 100%.) Limit your offscreen terrain pre-caching to Medium (a…

I’ve been doing this flight simming business for long enough (FS95) to guarantee you: none of these fixes has ever worked (consistently/permanently) without at least breaking something. At least not for me and objectively spoken. Not. a. single. one. of. them. It’s how these platforms are coded an…

Hi all, (7800x3d, 4070super, 64gig 6000MHZ 4k on 55inch TV) Only getting 30FPS with frequent drops on the new sim, got 60 on FS2020. Frame gen also seemed to casue stuttering and no benefit so turned it back off. I tried lowering texture res to medium, fiddled around with loads of med, high, ultr…

For anyone that has low FPS in Free Flight with frame gen enabled or it appears frame gen isn’t working, try disabling Dev Mode in settings. I had an issue where frame gen wasn’t properly working with dev mode, despite it clearly showing frame gen in the dev mode overlay.
