Frame generation causing stutters

hi
On my 4080 + 5800X3D, enabling FG AND DLSS3 makes the fps divided by 2 ans some stuttering.
When using TAA + FG it works like a charm
When using DLSS without FG its butter smooth
Any clues ?

need to clear your shader cache when you change those settings. It should help.

i think something wrong with frame generation
it introduces light stuttering on TAA and pretty heavy in DLSS3

is it worth upgrading the DLSS dll file ?

Enabling DLSS and frame generation simultaneously isn’t needed on a 4080. The 4080 will easily handle 4K resolution, and the effective performance boost from frame generation alone is far more signficant than DLSS.

The sim FPS counter is incorrect for frame generation - it will be locked at 30 fps. The FPS readout from Rivatuner will be correct, and should be double what the sim FPS counter shows.

why isnt needed ? so whats the whole (marketing) thing of getting a 4000 series ?
im running a full a320 homecockpit on a triple 4k 58 inch in very busy airports and using a32NX
every fps counts

DLSS is more useful for older or low-end GPUs that can’t render higher resolutions without a big performance hit. It renders at a lower resolution and uses AI to upscale to a higher resolution. I see that you run at 4K, which means with DLSS you render the internal sim at 1440p and then upscale to 2160p (4K). The 4080 has no issues running at 4K, so the performance gain is minimal.

Frame generation, on the other hand, effectively doubles performance. I would prioritize frame generation over DLSS any day, but there really is no need to use both - especially if it’s causing stutters.
