While MSFS 2024 has really improved its tree models and biomes despiction, there is still a lot of room to improve.
Bijan already came out with a “must have” Seasons enhanced 2024 payware mod which fixes and enhance the vegetation globally. But it’s impossible to get very accurate at a local level without diving deep into the SDK and set the things manually.
I took my shot for south of France with this little mod that required a lot of work.
It generally fixes the biomes Bijan already had improved, adding specific types of trees here and there, increasing, decreasing the density, adding missing patches of trees or removing excessive amount of trees.
I came across many glitches in the area covered with Vexcel TIN imagery in the Alps. I removed those spike. As well as a handfull of oversized OSM buildings.

Keep in mind it was designed to be used alongside with Bijan’s seasons 2024 mod. It should work without it but it can render a bit different.

V1.1 is out on flightsim.to featuring :
- New areas covered : Corbières and around Nimes (added mostly pines and other evergreens)
- More fixes and enhancements in Provence (less deciduous, more pines, more olive tree plantations around Alpilles, La Fare-les-Oliviers, Montagne Sainte Victoire)
- Marseille city : trees removed from harbour, tree cleaning around Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde basilica, added taller buildings in “Quartiers nord”
- Various fixes here and there and better polygon drawing to avoid straight lines
Keep in mind it is primarily designed to be used alongside with Bijan’s Seasons 2024 (payware). It should work without it but the vegetation biomes might appear slightly different than the screenshots.

Perhaps you could improve the forests of the French Jura, Swiss forest and the forests of the Swiss Alps for example Zermatt where there are quite a few larches.

- Terrain spikes removal in Vexcel countryside photogrammetric area (southern Alps)
- Adjusted vegetation biomes in Provence, southern Alps, Massif central, Corbières, Cévennes, Landes (see screenshots for coverage map)
- A lot of vegetation fixes in the mountains and along the coast (trees added where missing or trees removed where overgrown) with a special care around main airfields
- Manually placed olive tree plantations around Alpilles, Sainte-Victoire mountain, La Fare-les-Oliviers, Le Castellet and some other hidden places
- Manually placed palm trees on the sea shore of La Ciotat, Saint-Cyr, Bandol, Sanary, Six-Fours (will be extended to all the coastline in future updates)
- Marseille city : tree cleaning around basilica Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde and taller buildings added in Quartiers nord
- Few glitched oversized OSM buildings removed
- Few unrealistic cruising ships removed

I did tune a little bit the terrain color in the area, cause the satelite imagery there is not so good. But unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about the brown, almost red, color MSFS 2024 is adding to the terrain from winter to spring.
Hopefully it doesn’t look bad with a little snow.

Olivier, since yesterday I don’t see trees anymore at Hippodrome de Nice and most of the coastal towns of Côte d’Azur whith Bijan’s mod + empty community folder. Could you check if you see the same thing ?

It’s the same all the way down the coast. Every coastal town has a big area free of trees along the sea shore.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like that before with Bijan’s mod v1.3. I did reinstall it and clear community.
