Have some news on this have found a guy who has made a race tracker/timer app available on flightsim.to and plan to release a race course and hopefully more going forward.
Ill put an official post up when its due for release.

Hi everyone as promised here is link to my post for my new race course with timer.
Magical! Will check it out asap!! Nice one ![]()
Hello everyone, and thanks @DORRAGER for a great topic/suggestion!
I have two questions: Firstly, would anyone be interested in developing and/or flying Hawaiian races? For those of you who remember 2012’s MS Flight (e.g., here, read section ‘Conclusion 2’: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/wot-i-think-microsoft-flight; and check out MS Flight’s first Hawaiian air race here), there were several races winding through lush, green canyons such as Waimea, the Waipio Valley, and across - even into! - Mauna Loa. I would really like to see some Hawaiian races; it is such a beautiful part of the world, and I think that its rugged, volcanic scenery is perfect for single- and multi-player races.
Secondly, can anyone recommend specific, free-to-use scenery-creating assets? For example, to create pillars/posts such as those used in this air race? I would like to create a Hawaiian race course, but there seems to be no official SDK for creating air race sceneries (I see that race-tracking is possible, but I am more interested in the scenery itself.)
I am currently touring Hawaii, but I would really like to fly something more intense and challenging in this beautiful part of the world. Thanks.
Edit: I have found this fantastic freeware object library, which I have already used to create a 20-minute air race out of Hilo Bay next to Hilo Int’l airport (PHTO). Please read my latest post below if you’d like an update on my progress.
I’m not a developer but flying, yes sir! It was one of my suggestions in another topic created by @DORRAGER (which I can’t find now). Can imagine diving down into some of those chasms that are all over the islands would be quite thrilling in the right (powerful enough but not too fast) planes!
Thanks @DORRAGER and @Baracus250 , I have some good news for aspiring air racers:
As above, I have found this fantastic freeware object library, which I have already used to create a 20-minute air race out of Hilo Bay next to Hilo Int’l airport (PHTO).
My first air race is more of an endurance course than a short sprint, which winds up the Wailuku River State Park, along HI200, and across the Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge, before following the Hilo coastline and HI19 all the way to the Akaka State Park Falls, before returning south for a low and fast approach over the Hilo Bay, its sea wall, and finally Hilo port. In the JSX-2 averaging 180KIAS, it took me 25 minutes to complete it, but it can be completed in any Class A or B aircraft (e.g., the Icon A5 would be a fantastic choice for pilots who prefer to fly low and slow).
I will share a link to my first air race here (and upload it to flightsim.to in the ‘aerobatic’ and ‘acrobatic’ race categories) this week - I am just fine-tuning it, double-checking that the course is both challenging enough to be replayable and fun enough to let pilots enjoy some point-to-point flying and free-styling in between.
Edit: Oh, and I found this amazing video showing MS Flight’s first Hawaiian air race. I intend to recapture some of that nostalgia by making my own air races that should definitely challenge and entertain! ****
Edit 2: I never did get the time to upload my races; life got in the way. But I will try to upload them, when I get the time to fly again. ****
I would enjoy this too. A red bull style competitionor even alone to test you skills in different circuits with that inflatable gates. That could be awesome.
