Hi everyone, got a bug today while trying to takeoff from CYYZ and CYUL in freezing temperature, -5c.
From a cold and dark setup at the gate , in the A310 or Fenix A320, probes heat on after turning on externat power and batteries and everything, taxiing to the runway, on take off roll, no airspeed.
Tried spawning on the runway fully configured, airspeed works.
Is it MSFS excessive icing at it again?
Can anyone try to replicate?
I tried a flight from KMIA, +22c with the A310, same setup from cold and dark, airspeed is alive on the take off roll.
I’ll try to turn icing effects off in assistance options tomorrow but I’m still wondering if someone can replicate this.
I can confirm. Approach to KDTW , ceiling 4000 temperature-5. Got in-cloud icing but both engine and wing anti-icing on, probe heating never off anyway. The IAS froze at 150 about 500 feet above ground.
I thought it was a nice touch at that time, didn’t actually consider it a bug. It can happen once in a while I suppose that the probe malfunctions after passing through a thick freezing cloud, so I went TOGA immediately after recognizing it. Didn’t cross-check with the F/O IAS though …
My settings are default modern, i.e. no assistance.
Hey there. First VATSIM flight with Fenix A320 went into catastrophic disaster. Approach to Munich. Approach controller tells me to reduce speed from 220 to 200 knots at 10mile final on 5000 feet. Speed is not reducing. I get hell of overspeed alarms because i went flaps 2. The analog IAS indicator also did not work. Then i started to go around. Speeds worked again but then got stuck at 320 knots. i declared emergency to the tower and he told me my IAS. but he needed to disconnect. approach was fully IFR. no visuals.
I ended in stall. all virtual 157 lifes lost.
Engine Anti Ice was on. Probe heat was on.
Dont know what went wrong. Never had such problems in FBW A320.
