Welcome to the 199th flight event with Gunpilot and a whole bunch of other like-minded sim pilots in MSFS 2024. If you have just discovered these flight events for the first time, welcome aboard and you will be made to feel very much at home with the rest of the pilots on the flight.
The only request we make is that you arrive on the tarmac in the aircraft designated for the flight (and if the aircraft is one you have not flown before, take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the aircraft flight characteristics prior to dropping in onto the rwy at the start of the event). This weeks flight details:
A team of seasoned bush pilots, each at the controls of their powerful DRACO X bush planes, embark on an electrifying adventure across the breathtaking landscapes of southern France. With their turbines roaring to life, they take off into a sky brushed with the soft pastels of dawn, ready to explore a string of enchanting French Provincial villages tucked away in remote, storybook valleys. Below them, the land unfolds like a masterpiece—rolling vineyards, golden fields of lavender, and jagged limestone cliffs that rise dramatically from emerald-green forests. Nestled between these natural wonders, centuries-old villages appear like hidden gems, their stone cottages and ivy-draped châteaux reflecting the golden hues of the sun. A network of glistening streams weaves through the valleys, mirroring the sky as the pilots chart a course through some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Europe.
But the real thrill lies in the landings. These daring aviators must put every ounce of their skill to the test as they navigate tight, unforgiving terrain to touch down in the heart of these secluded villages. Gravel bars, grassy meadows, and short, sloping farm fields serve as their runways—each approach demanding split-second precision and nerves of steel. The DRACO X, with its unmatched STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capabilities, dances effortlessly between towering cliffs and over sparkling rivers before settling onto postage-stamp-sized clearings with barely room to spare. With every landing comes a rush of adrenaline, a challenge conquered, and a new breathtaking destination to explore. From mist-laden alpine passes to sun-soaked Mediterranean foothills, this journey is not just about the thrill of flight—it’s about uncovering the soul of rural France from a perspective few will ever experience.

*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link Discord) to be taken there. Load this file directly into the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 directory on your PC in the PRESETS folder which is located within the WEATHER folder in the aforementioned MSFS2024 directory .
