ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
If you delete(move) the Content.xml file and allow the sim to regenerate it, 3rd party content is being enabled by default. It would seem important that this would, instead, result in a “vanilla” install with only Asobo/Microsoft content enabled. In my case, I have the 2024 versions of Zinertek Enhanced Airport Graphics and MMCZ Cozumel by Flymex. These are being enabled by default. I do not have any other 2024-specific 3rd party content (yet), but I’d expect that once I get updates for what I own, I will see this with them, as well.

This has proven to be true. “Enhanced Runway Lights” became available as a free upgrade to a 2024 version. I upgraded to it.

Deleting the Content.xml file and allowing the sim to regenerate it is now enabling “Enhanced Runway Lights” along with the previously mentioned 3rd party content by default.

I still maintain that a fresh copy of Content.xml should result in a “vanilla” installation of the sim, not one with 3rd party content enabled.

This is still happening in SU3 Beta and it cannot be what is intended.

Due to serious performance degradation with SU3 Beta, I elected to uninstall and reinstall 2024 fresh.

In so doing, the newly created Content.xml has by default enabled all 2024-native Marketplace add-ons, therefore not creating a nice clean add-on free installation.

This needs to be rectified.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

Why on earth is this bug only feedback-logged ?

This is so beyond easy to replicate and is a bug that should be important to Asobo and Microsoft.

A fresh installation of the sim should NOT be enabling 3rd party Marketplace content by default!

I’m truly dumbfounded that this issue has not seen a higher priority for fixing.

I’ve just done, yet another, fresh installation of the sim to hopefully resolve an ongoing issue. How can Asobo/Microsoft expect us to be able to ensure we have a CLEAN installation when every single Marketplace item compatible with 2024 we have ever bought – regrets, known troublemakers and/or outdated (ATR livery packs for the 2020 version, for example) – are enabled on a fresh install of the sim?

We need a clean known good installation for testing purposes. It’s crazy to think we have to all have the presence of mind to go into the library and look for every item that needs to be disabled and set them so to get to a “vanilla” state.

PLEASE fix this. It cannot be hard for you to generate a vanilla Content.xml with a fresh install of the sim and ensure that it is the default file.
