And Xplane11!
how do you know it? the friction on comaminated runways will be addressed finally?
I think FS2024, not the 2020 version. Can’t remember where I saw that.
It would also be a big improvement if we could get acutal contamination of runways. I saw it last time when landing in ESSA (Stockholm, Sweden) where real METAR told me the runway had a contamination of about 50% so bad friction is to be considered. This was due to the fact that it had shortly before heavily rained over the airport. As I arrived and did my short final landing, the rain has moved on. But of course the runways were still wet and therefore you still had a contamination on the runways in real life, not so in the sim. As soon as the rain moves on, the runway is dust try again.
Would really be a big add on the immersion of the sim if we could get snow or rain coverage even if the event of precipitation has moved on or stopped already. In real life it takes some time for the runway to unfreeze or dry up so it should just be the same in the sim as well.
Hi, is there any news on this? If so could someone link it here. I think it is very important to pay attention to the ground conditions, the landing and takeoff are the most exciting parts of a flight and you have to think about the runway length in snow, ice or rain.
I feel honored that a topic I created has made it this far!
There seems to be no difference in landing distance no matter the runway conditions. It would be nice for the water, snow and ice actually have an affect for the friction and thus braking!
Important topic.

someone add the 2024 tag to this - its clearly not working / not present in MS 2024 either
Done - 2024 tag added!
