I’m running FS ATC Chatter and occasionally the voices come through crackly and choppy like the person saying it is being tazered! I have wav and mp3 versions of the issue, can I upload or post them here somehow?
I’ve reinstalled the sound drivers - they’re up to date.
MSFS sounds and in-sim ATC chatter are completely unaffected. No other sound sources on my system are affected, just the in-sim playback from this addon (which is a defacto mp3 player that plays files randomly when you’re tuned to comms).
Brand new system, brand new Win11 install
CPU: AMD Ryen 7 7800X3D
GPU: Sapphire RX 7900XTX
Mobo: ASUS B650E-F
RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz CL30
Sound: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (Gen3)
Anyone have any idea why I’m getting this issue?.. which started after the latest mandatory update by the way.
Just to be clear, you’d like to upload a recording of the problem from FS ATC Chatter, not their actual sound files that are used as part of the program, correct?
I’m in the middle of a flying session and fired up my copy of FS ATC Chatter. Sounds okay to me. I’m on AAU2 , France City Update 2. Texas City Update (i.e., latest build).
I’m currently listening to FS ATC Chatter 1.2.3 broadcasting ground chatter as I’m on KSFO ground. No sound issue and MSFS 1.33.8.0.
Does this disturbed sound happened only on specific sound file (the loop is not that big) or is it totally random even if a file start correctly and being broken?
As above, the individual files play fine when played in an external media player. The files aren’t corrupted in any way. It’s when they are played in the sim. I think the files are being affected by… something… and it appears to be randomly too.
Not sure if the media type will be recognized (i.e., MP3) by the Discourse board software, but you can try to attach it. Worst comes to worst, you’ll have to upload it to a file-sharing site.
Save the actual ATC chatter library files somewhere and uninstall/reinstall? Have you contacted Mark (Stick & Rudder)? He might have some support ideas…
I have been using FS ATC since it launched and love it. I have never experienced your issue.
Have you checked the output device its using is the one you expect? Maybe try plugging in a headset annd using that as the output device?
Sorry - I don’t have a clue - but this would be where I would start (short or uninstalling and ensuring all remnants of the software are removed)
