Just upgraded my broadband to full fibre 1gig direct cable connection. Although it varies from 750 - 850Mbps. A lot faster than my previous maximum speed of 60Mbps. FS must upload the scenery better, with a faster BB? Also, I have a very fast 2TB Gen4 SSD, loads of spare space. Can I adjust FS in the Menu Data section to improve performance? Or download some smaller areas of scenery, for better performance?
PC Spec, CPU i9-11900K, 32GB Ram, GPU Nvidia GeForce RTX3090, SSD Gen4 2TB, PSU 1000w, and water cooled system. Thank You.
To be honest it didn’t make a jot of difference to me when I moved from 60mb ADSL to VM 300Mb. When flying it only uses about 2.5 - 5 Mbs. You’ll notice more of a difference downloading updates, which should be faster.
I have a really basic PC setup for MSFS. Maybe shocking basic for some of you! But it works fine and I can run MSFS smoothly on average settings! I do have a fast internet connection though.
My broadband is good. It was specially helpfull for downloading MSFS, pffffff.
But in flight I don’t know if it really make a difference, from what I read I don’t thinks so. CPU matters most , GPU less.
My experience: tweaking the (endless) menu options really works but is sadly enough very depeding on individual PC configuration! And MSFS: nice there are so many menu options, but really you just can’t see the trees in the forest.
My system basicly: an Intel i5-9500 processor that is consuming 65 watts max, a GTX-1060 Graphics card that is using max 120 watts. Besides that I have 32 GB DDR-4 RAM. I am running on Windows 11 Pro.
My power supply is 300 Watt. It’s enough. I actually measured the power usage of the system and it never exceeds 110 Watts when playing MSFS on average setting (and that’s good enough for me and the framerate is around 60 FPS). Heavy PSU is really overrated believe me!!
So: even on such a minimum system, and very low power consumtion, it runs fine! So maybe this is good news for those who just look for a good enough PC on average standards but low costs.
