FS Realistic was just released

Haven’t noticed anything. But haven’t really looked (or should that be “listened”). All I can say is it’s very windy in the main menu now!

Change Log was only this though, Most of which I don’t use anyway.

v2.2.0

New

  • Large / small UI toggle option

Improved

  • Enhanced realism in default profiles
  • Improved auto start mechanism

Fixed issues

  • First-person inverted mouse
  • Sudden zoom in/out during touchdown effect
  • Reverse thrust was not working
  • Landing applause was not working
  • Backspace was not working on text inputs
  • Assigned buttons were triggering even when MSFS is not focused
  • Sounds used to play on pause / while in menu / slew mode
  • App got stuck randomly on launch
  • Minor bug fixes and optimizations

“Improved auto start mechanism” <— Quite funny really lol

“Sounds used to play on pause / while in menu / slew mode” <— no, they never used to but they do now haha

Apparently no fix for the first person mod with tail draggers.

Mmm … Thanks for the Change Log :slightly_smiling_face:

Can’t see much to rush for here (for me anyway) so will leave it a bit before updating.

Might take a copy of the original folder as well before I eventually do update :+1:

Yeah, right away.

Now, for me I haven’t used FSRealistic for a while. Sort of forgot I had it to be honest. Anyway, the default settings for the TBM at least are overkill so I ended up disabling most of the sounds including the airport sounds that show up now in the sim before starting a flight. The default airport sounds outside are noisy enough sometimes and extra airport noisiness from FSRealistic didn’t seem to be necessary.

After being away from FSRealistic for a while, I’m using it mostly for the subtle movements which to my eyes, really add a lot to the sim. It’s a keeper for me now.

The new update is great!
Unfortunately no update for the First Person Mode in this one.
I’m sure it’s coming in later updates if they can fix the issues.
As for sounds…YES the reverse thrust/beta improvement is very nice.

Hey Captains, thanks for your feedback on v2.2.0, we will be looking into the mentioned issue of sounds in main menu, it is indeed strange as we have included a fix for it  nevertheless, we will make sure to fix it for the next version if it is indeed found to be a bug. Last version includes many fixes which many users been waiting for. We are continuously improving and adding new capabilities, thanks for your support!

I can confirm I have the latest update and get sound in the main menu.

Do we maybe have to uninstall and reinstall? If so would our profiles still be maintained and linked correctly?

I didn’t get any sounds in the menu. iirc I uninstalled old version and reinstalled the new version. Profiles seemed ok, but didn’t do an extensive check on that. Should be ok if the uninstall kept the data.

The update recommended install on a different drive than the OS, so I actually did uninstall and reinstalled the new update to a totally different folder on D: instead. Seems to work fine other than sound in Main Menu.

This is a reproduceable bug for me re: stock TBM

FSRealistic interferes with the automated checklist process, specifically at BEFORE TAXI → Flight Controls (gets hung up and has to be forced to complete) and also at THROTTLE → Feather Twice (gets hung up and when forced to compllete never returns throttle to Taxi idle).

These items will only happen when FSRealistic (my version 2.2) is connected.

@LeadRaindrop53
I just installed SU14 beta and immediately getting FSRealistic making sound on menu entry (no MSFS restart), which I didn’t recall before after I updated FSRealistic before (albeit testing was minimal).

In debug this shows Airport ambience and WInd ambience are both on. It seems to be a newly introduced bug with the preset state detection for the selected preset thinking you have switched camera view to outside the plane, as it’s showing I have a preset selected for the FSR500 which is the currently selected aircraft. Normally it shows nothing selected, just “connection successful, please start a flight”, until you go into fly mode iirc.

However, MSFS then CTD’d going in to Fly mode (testing the new SR22) and when I restarted FSRealistic was as per normal, no sound in menu and showing no preset selected on main menu, just the normal “connection successful, please start a flight”.

So could be a little glitchy detecting the state of the sim, depending on how the menu loads? In this case the menu sound issue from FSRealistic it was triggered by an MSFS sim update, but if started normally it seems ok.

I’d submit this as a bug but it’s already under discussion so assuming you are already aware of it.

But seeing as there is a sim update tomorrow, you might be getting a bunch of irate customers as this could well happen to them. It’s probably good practice to restart MSFS after an update, so possibly an easy workaround in this case.

Edit: I spoke too soon. Going back to main menu from fly mode FSRealistic Airport ambience and wInd ambience are both on. So the MSFS state detection in it is bugged.

Edit2: Did another flight and back from Fly mode to main menu and FSRealistic is behaving itself this time, no menu sounds of airport and wind. Twitchy. Not sure what’s up with that.

Edit3: Just started MSFS for another test and FSRealistic is selecting the aircraft profile currently active which causes the menu sound, instead of the regular normal “connection successful, please start a flight”.

I also get the sound in main menu. The sound likely comes from Ambient Sound (airport or surrounding), disable this will no longer hear it in menu.

Confirmed bug: FSRealistic does not detect when MSFS is in main menu and consider it as in-flight state. A fix is on the way. Appreciate your report!

Actually you need to disable that and also ambient airport wind.

Disabling the wind I understand since MSFS took care of that a few SU’s ago…but airport ambient sounds adds aircraft taking off (I fly GA airports mostly) and a few others that I don’t get with MSFS. Curious why you think that should be turned off.

Thanks,
Garry

For me both sounds turn up in the main menu with the current version of FSRealistic.

Got it…thanks.
Garry

@LeadRaindrop53 , I have an issue where selecting the SR22 automatically and always closes FSR. It happened with the old one and the new, and with all versions so far of FSR. It only happens with the SR22. I don’t have any mods installed for it.

Any ideas?

How long will it take to publish this fix?
