FS Servers Down?

Couple hours ago FS 2024 stopped loading the starting airport for my next mission, then I tried FS2020 and it’s stuck at zero trying to load a mandatory update.

All my other online connections working normally.

Anyone know if servers are down? This started about UTC 1300 Dec 30.

Fs24 servers are fine, just done an hour flight, can’t say about 2020 though as I don’t use it any more.

Been flying in 24 over the past hour or so, no issues at all.

Make sure that in your settings → online → you set your servers to automatic. Dont pick a specific server.

No issues on 2020 for me today so far.

I’m noticing that the time spent on the “checking for updates” screen is getting longer each time I run FS2020…

FS2024 is OK now and I changed server to automatic there, but I still can’t download the mandatory update to FS2020. And there seems to be no way to change the FS2020 server until you get into the program. I close the topic anyway. Thanks to the responders for your information.

You CANNOT select or choose which server you connect to for streaming scenery, live weather or any other MSFS service except multiplayer. MP is the only part of MSFS which allows end-users to choose which geographic server they connect to. If you do not use multiplayer, changing the “server” in either automatic or manual mode does absolutely nothing.

MSFS itself chooses which servers to connect to for streaming based on the geographic location of your ISP’s internet gateway. The only way to get a different set of servers is to use a VPN which makes your internet connection appear to be in a different geographic location than it actually is.
