PC user. Just want to support ASBO/Microsoft, I have been on this journey with you since day one. Thank you for giving us this amazing flight simular. Yes there have been bugs and tears along the way. But seriously, for the cost, the support and ugrades have been outstanding. Well done its amazing.
Indeed! And they are there still. How much longer will folks have to wait for a (majorly) bug-free product that some today still find unusable?
I agree 100%.
MSFS2020 is an outstanding product.
I fly in VR, exclusively. Not in my wildest dreams would I have imagined a couple of years ago that something like this would even be possible!
Now I fly the 737-700 one day, and the Discus 2c glider the next - all with incredible detail and immersion. A dream come true, after almost 30 years of flight simulation…
You can not spoil the OPs point by bringing up old gripes, it is a great sim.
It takes time, FSX was not fixed overnight like that, neither was X-Plane 10. It took 2 service packs to bring out fixes to FSX that released 7 months after it release and SP2 5 months later and that was all. With X-Plane they built on from what they had in X-Plane 10 to 11 and now 12, which is why you do not see major leaps and bounds of improvements on them. Don’t get me wrong they do update their flight model, add new aircraft and such but it makes it easier for them because they have a relatively new version to base off their next iteration.
MSFS 2020 did not have that luxury they were using and building upon original code back from 2006-2007. They had to rewrite a lot of things to get it up to standard to today which of course will cause issues when you are updating existing code that can break with the old code. Be happy that this is not a 1-year support like FSX was and that they are committed to it for the long run of 10 years. It will get better, and if SU10 delay is any good sign, we can be in for a good turn.
There’s an objective list of bugs that Asobo is working on for SU10 and beyond as we speak, some that are very serious, which is why SU10 was pushed back. Everyone would have issues if they use the features that are bugged, and it seems the vast majority use a tiny percentage of the features. What is Asobo fixing as we speak? People’s hardware?
Closing for review of flags.
Some posts removed. Please stay on-topic. The sim vs vehicle comparison tends to lead into off-topic debates.
Let’s focus more on MSFS. Thank you.
There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that we do not know that is happening. Many things get updated or fixed without it being mentioned in the patch notes at all. Only time will tell to see how much of an improvement or downfall SU10 will be and to see if the month flighting will give them a chance to fix any encountered bugs during the beta.
To be on topic, many things that are in MSFS are truly indeed amazing. To the lighting, 3rd party aircraft support, and continued improvements and added features, I have no doubt this sim will excel in the next 4-5 years with its continued support.
This app is just awesome! Just fantastic, I have 300h of real flying on maybe 10 different planes, I stopped real flying due to age, price and safety…
And today I spend a lot of time on msfs, and also with videos made by so many different guys; military pilots, civilians who… share this pleasure while they have incredible experiences. Asobo & Microsoft have achieved a feat… make a simulation that can bring together people as different as former fighter pilots, VFR pilots, virtual enthusiasts, and… even players who will pilot their devices in exterior views!! and why not ! bring together such a wide range of people who are passionate or simply curious about aviation and this with a non-offsetting, easy-to-access interface… just incredible. Ah, if I forgot, even the trolls are present on the forums with their batches of criticism most of the time sterile! retired today, I thank for each of my flights these geniuses of the software which gives me the opportunity to pass from a pa28 on which I passed my VFR license, to an ULM on which I carried out my last hours of flight, to an F104 or a Fouga on which I would never have the opportunity to fly in real life! not to mention these flights in the Sahara, or these cities made in photogrammetry sometimes so bluffing. So congratulations and thank you for this continuous work which improves, stability, performance and realism all this in an open architecture.
Great sim guys. I know its not perfect and it will never be for some folks who blame the sim for a lot of their issuse when the problem is more than likely their PC. We must understand that what works well on one PC does not always work the same on the next persons PC. Its taken a bit of tweaking on mine but hey man all seittings on ultra and maxed out and smooth at silk right now. Love it again.
I say: Hear Hear!
Feels hard to test things in BETA if they updating and fixing things without mention those fixes in patchnotes when they say we should only test things that has been updated and fixed.
Well i liked the sim more before the weather changes they did in su4 and su7. The scenery is amazing though that has only getting better. But weather i fly in more and that is also a thing i hoped to get better since release were it was amazing too actually besides the winds 225@3kts bug all over the world.
It’s the best sim ever created that gives me the most peace of mind from crashes, blurries, OOMs and other issues that plagued FSX. I can actually look forward to a flight and complete it without any issues.
Descending into places like KMIA, KLAX and JFK smoothly and fully loaded terrain performance in a complex demanding aircraft like Fenix or PMDG 737. What a solid sim!
It’s such great fun isn’t it?
Learn just a little of Developer Mode and you can shape the World how you want it to be; (Far better than the real thing)
Earthlings beware.
Around the World in a King Air (somewhere over the Agean Sea)
Trans-Atlantic America to London - early morning.
Trying for Orbit. (Planet Earth is blue but there’s nothing I can do)
And just another day on the Line; (Not that I’m complaining)
It’s amazing and frustrating in equal measure! We definitely don’t give the Devs enough credit for the work that goes in to providing the realism we get. VR in MSFS isn’t perfect, but it still amazes me everyday and could never go back to 2D. I can’t wait for SU10 to get that little bit closer to perfection!
MSFS was always going to be the future since day 1. I’m glad to see just how much investment continues to be poured into the sim by Microsoft and Asobo.
Asobo has truly revolutionized this incredible genre, and it’s incredible to have the Microsoft backing us all up.
Until eternity. The product is already extremely usable - and not just usable, but enjoyable - today, but there will always be folks, who find stuff that is not working as they expect. And that’s ok, keeps making the product better and better. If you have ever heard of the mathematical concept of limit, the lifecycle of this product can be defined using it.
