FS2020 and steam VR

Hi, I see that when I launch FS the steam vr don’t start. I buiyed the FS from the stor but I want to try to use with steam vr is that possible ?

You can launch it in Steam and then once the Game loaded on Desktop press TAB and STRG sametime to jump to VR Mode.

In Steam VR you can launch the Game too but it behaves very bad currently so id recommend you use STEAM to load the Game first Place.

In Steam VR once i press STRG / TAB with OCULUS i do not get any AUDIO anymore since World Update 3 so sure since that behavior i use STEAM and then press these two Keys.

I hope the FS 2020 Developers will add a decent 3D / VR launcher any day

Thank you so much for the help, how I can add fs to steam ? I can’t find fs2020 " add a non steam game to my library.

I think your post is slightly confusing - by “the store” which store are you referring to, the Microsoft store or the steam store?

Are you saying you can’t launch into VR at all, or are you saying that it does work but you want to specifically use SteamVR?

What headset do you have?

If it’s just that you want it to run on steam for whatever reason, regardless of where you bought it MSFS uses OpenXR so it will use whichever OpenXR runtime is set as your system default. If you want this to be steam’s for whatever reason then go to steamVR (either in headset or from the steamVR widget menu with the headset attached), “settings”, then “developer” and choose “set steamVR as openXR runtime”.

If you are using anything other than a native steamVR headset such as the index this may or may not result in worse performance than using your own headset’s OpenXR runtime, but does have the advantage of allowing the use of steam apps like fpsVR.

You have right, I wrote really bad, newborn here and not so much time ahahaha

I have a reverb g2 and a fs2020 bought from microsoft store.
Since the performance are not so good with wmr I would try using steam vr, maybe is better.
Just a try…
My rig is ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 3070, 32gb ram.
For the gpu I am using old driver because they are far better (457.30)

Congrats on the baby!

Just follow the steps I laid out to change the OpenXR runtime to steam’s and then it’ll run on steamVR

To change back use either the wmr portal prompt or the OpenXR developer app.
