FS2020 causes connection problem

Hi, I haven’t been able to play since yesterday. I have a perfectly functional internet connection but when I launch the game it becomes unstable and when I enter the game the shop is not available and the pc hardly surfs anymore. As soon as I quit the game, the connection returns to normal. I have already tried to install the game again but nothing has changed.

can someone help me?

Start with this checklist which comes from “Support” at the top of the page.

I have already tried everything but the problem persists

When you start the sim, is it the sim that’s unstable, or is it the internet that isn’t stable?

What is your internet bandwidth? This sim has a hefty internet speed requirement.

What you describe sounds like insufficient bandwidth. The sim is consuming the bandwidth, and hence the internet seems sluggish while it’s running.

And if your internet connection is sufficient, the bottleneck could be just your rig. For example, if it is wifi, then wifi speed and wifi saturation come into play.

If you allocate a good amount of cache and fly the same area, the bandwidth consumption will be less. Turn off photogrammetry, etc.

when launch the sim the internet becomes instable. As soon i close the sim the internet return stable

than You, i know.
i have the simulator for over a year.
My internet is 120 mb DL and 20 mb UL and I’ve always played well.
i’m sure is not the internet the problem.
The problem in my opinion is the google map mod that I uninstalled anyway, I checked the hosts file and it is correct.
When the sim is started, the store is also not available.

There it is :grinning:

You may have uninstalled it but you’re probably right. The issue isn’t down to the sim… but the mod (which is against the t&c of course)

Thank You Steve,
the problem is that the sim continues to have problems even after uninstalling the mod, I don’t want to have to format the pc but I don’t really know what else to do

When that happened to me, it turned out to be an addon causing the issue. Have you tried emptying your community folder?

Have you tried repairing the sim? (under app options) probably won’t work but might be worth a try.
I’d probably go down the uninstall and reinstall route myself.

Steve

The Google Map mod makes changes to your network configuration hosts file, because it’s trying to bypass the sim’s map server settings in order to pull the map from Google. It doesn’t fix that when you remove it.

You can search for solutions outside the Board. We don’t support or condone use of this mod.

Dear CasualClick as i write above i check my file hosts and it is ok.
Apart from the use or not of mods, in truth, the sim, despite being spectacular, has several flaws.

Fortunately, it seems that installing the latest google maps mod (V.3.0.8) solved my problem, after I reinstalled the sim 2 times anyway. I hope it can help others

Obviously I will no longer use the google maps mod but, it is certain that if there were not some really well made mods from third parties the sim would not be at the level it should be at

Sorry for my english and thank you to all.
