FS2020 Community Folder/Encrypted Files

Hi !

I have a problem since i started playing FS2020 …the encryption of the community folder and its problems.

I normally played FS with the GamePass and i thought i could fix that problem by buying a normal version. But the problem still exist. The FS files are encrypted also the community folder. I have sometimes problems to open/read files within the community folder. Even FS sometimes cant load textures (DDS), so the plane is just white.

I already converted 15 aicrafts, all running fine so far. But like i said…sometimes its a problem to read the files.

Questions:

1. Is there any way to change the community folder path ?
2. How can i fix the problem with the encryption ?
3. Why im the only one who got that problem ?

Please take this serious Asobo…this is really annoying that you cannot proper edit your files.

And before someone ask: No the FS is NOT running when i try to open a file (which also works on most of the files)

Hi Max.

The stock game files are encrypted if you purchase the game through the Windows Store. I am not fully familiar with the technical reasoning, but I believe it has something to do with the type of applications the store installs. Premium add-on content is also encrypted to help prevent piracy. However, your community folder shouldn’t be encrypted as this is where you can manually install addons/mods.

You can set the path of your community folder during the first launch. If you left it as default you will have to follow these steps to move it.
