FS2024 does not close

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

As mentioned in the title, FS2024 keeps running in the background and has to be closed via the Task Manager.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Close FS2024 via Alt+F4 or via MSFSMenu

  2. Start FS2024 again and a message will then appear stating that the programme is currently running and cannot be started.

  3. You then need to open Task Manager, locate MSFS and close it by clicking ‘End Task’

I have this problem about 70% of the time with both FS2020 and FS2024 (over last two years).

A fix would be appreciated.

They did fix this issue in Sim Update 16 of FS2020. But now this issue is in FS2024… no words.

This same issue has just started for me in the 2 days. Task manager needed to close the sim, and interestingly upon restart no msg saying “pgm ended unexpectedly” or similar.
