FS2024 Stick Sensitivity & Aircraft Specific Binding Saves

I have two ?'s with respect to MSFS2024 control binding settings that I still am struggling to fully understand -

The new controller setup is divided into 3 groups/tags - general controls, aircraft type controls, and aircraft specific controls

  1. In the full list of commands available how do you find or set up anything for the 3rd category ie aircraft specific controls. From the bindings available they all already have either ‘general’ or an aircraft category eg ‘helicopter’ attributed to them already. So all my aircraft specific control bindings are currently set to ‘None’. I’m just not sure how you go about setting this aircraft specific controls sub group/tag up and I probably need an example to help me understand it. I’m assuming it means say for example you select something like ‘TOGGLE SPRAY’, which is currently already assigned to the group ‘helicopters’, so how do you assign it to you a specific helicopter control instead?
If there is a list of specific helicopter control bindings do they only show up when a dev has set them up as such? I’m confused so need an example.
  2. Where do hardware sensitivity curve changes get saved to? When you change hardware sensitivity curves do changes apply to all aircraft? or the helicopter specific controls eg for all helicopters, or just for the one helicopter you happen to be using? It’s not clear to me where this saves to and how wide the scope of the change is.

Any help in understanding this appreciated.

You ever figure this out? On #1, I’m pretty sure the “Aircraft Specific” category is to be used in the future by new aircraft that want custom bindings. I have yet to see an aircraft use anything in the category.

I’m curious about #2 as well. I’d think that the sensitivies would be saved in “Aircraft Type Controls” BUT it seems like some of them are actually saved in the “General Controls” profile.

If true, do I need to general control profile called “Fenix” if I want Fenix specific sensitivities on my joystick? That can’t be right.

No idea, its still as clear as mud to me. I don’t even know if we can have multiple sensitivity curves for different aircraft or if there is just one sim wide.

I’ve been tinkering with another flight sim recently and I was struck by how easy and well thought out control profiles, sensitivities and aircraft specific assignment all were. Not so with fs2024. 5 months in, and still more ?s than answers.

The control binding screen and aircraft selection are certainly some of the low points of 2024.

Harder than it needs to be… Setting up my controls for the PMDG 777 today was so painful.
