ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

The “Online Data Consumption” is not counting correctly. The value jumps back from higher GB or MB number to KB values even during a single session. So this bug is not sim-restart specific. This bug is not triggered by reaching the “Reset Day” (which would be correct behaviour).

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Basically every time.

However, it might be that this bug requires the number to above a certain value.
Perhaps the code is using a signed 32 bit integer for the calculation … which would “roll over” after 2.1 GB.

I have so far not seen values a lot higher than 2.something GB.

1. Check “Settings → Online → Data Consumption → Current Data Consumption”
2. Download a lot of data … e.g. by configuring lots of different aircraft
3. Go to step 1

MEDIA

It is hard to “proof” the bug in screenshots. But here is one from the 3rd Dec. … the reset day is the 1st Dec … I clearly downloaded lots of GB of data in those day … but it only shows 885 MB.

I’m also finding it quite odd that I’ve been exploring the world like crazy, all across canada, norway, japan, I’ve viewed the photogrammetry in toronto, tokyo and I’ve been flying a lot in iceland doing all the cargo missions from coast to coast but somehow I’ve only used 200mb of data.

I can’t tell how much rolling cache I’m using because the file pre-allocates 16GB when it’s first created so I can’t see how much is actually being downloaded.

• Well, I just fly around different photogrammetry locations and it barely seems to be consuming any data. For example, after flying 3-4 different photogrammetry cities for a few minutes each in a fighter jet (to help cover more areas), it’s consumed hardly 4-6 GBs of data, with a rolling cache limit of 50 GB e.g.

• The data consumption is better in the beta but only marginally. Something is off for sure, because the graphics don’t load in properly or look blurry/not sharp. Draw distances very poor and details pop onto the POIs really late. 100+ mbps fiber here.
