Japan Volcanoes Part 1

In this first part of our journey across Japan we will start on east coast of northern island of Hokkaido. Hokkaido is second largest island and with its capital Sapporo probably most people will remember it as host of Winter Olympics in 1972.
From there we will fly westwards and before we hit the end of it turn down south and jump on main island Honshu. By that time, we will already see few volcanoes and lakes that filled their calderas. Keep in mind that on flight plan provided I only noted the active ones, there is plenty more to see on the way.
After reaching Honshu Island we will continue our path down south towards Sendai, capital of Miyagi prefecture and then land just before Fukushima where we will make our final stop.
This is also one of the most uneasy areas in Japan, constantly shaking, and two prefectures which were hit the most and suffered heavy damage in 2011 Great Tohoku earthquake and subsequently tsunami that followed.

Duration of this event will be about 3 hours.

Flight Plan Information

IMPORTANT - If you want to fly low to the ground make sure you pick up something that can climb very good. Terrain is very diverse and requires lot of descends and climbs in that case. But I recommend to stay at around 4000-5000ft or higher since otherwise you wont be able to spot the terrain. Not all of the volcanoes are very easy to spot due to Japanese DEM and data not being very detailed/accurate. Also make sure you can do 180kt/340kmh or more.
