Question to @Umberto67

There is a cool sound replacement mod for GSX on to where you can get more variation on boarding etc. Would it be possible to do a similar system to Fenix where we can add custom airliner specific boarding/deboarding announcements like Fenix has? That way we could get them for all planes without additiona addons.

I am ok with manually replacing them on each update but if some support for this type of thing would happen it would be great.

Here is the mod. It has already risen to one of the most downlaoded mods.

Hello, is there eta for seated passengers for the inbuilds A300? Thank you.

Yes A300 please! Although at least we can fly cargo into the passengers arrive.

Is it just passengers or full automation was finally added to business variants?

Summary of my experience with GSX so far (Kuro B788):

  • Illogical refuelling menu gives percentages instead of a box to type a number in.
  • Menu constantly resetting or not loading.
  • GSX settings inaccessible during cruise when “Disable GSX in cruise” is enabled.
  • “Insane” boarding/deboarding time is still woefully slow and nowhere near realistic.
  • Menu will tell you “Gate too small” with every opening of the menu unless you turn it off.
  • Menu closes after every action, even if it’s popped out from MSFS (goes blank and must be reopened)
  • No way that I can see to force any action to complete immediately.

What am I missing, is this really what its like? So many of these features are simply better and more streamlined i.e FBW A320NX’s EFB.

I can’t believe I spent $50 AUD on this. This is nowhere near what I was expecting.

Where to start….

  1. “Disable GSX in cruise”: when that is checked, you can’t open GSX in cruise/flight until you are back on the ground. If you want to fiddle with the GSX during flight, uncheck the box.

  2. Animation speed: In the settings(as Umberto would say…read the manual) you can adjust the speed and density of the passengers during boarding/deboarding. Just be aware that higher speeds/density eat more frames. You just have to play around with it to find that balance.

  3. Kuro 787: refueling is different between some custom 3rd party plans (fenix, PMDG, etc) vs planes that are “default” (Asobo 787/747/A320N). The default planes will open the MSFS weight/fuel page where you select how much fuel to load. The Kuro 787 uses the Asobo 787 systems…thus that is why you are seeing that.

  4. Having proper GSX profile files for scenery that you are using(especially using default scenery). Most higher quality 3rd party scenery these days include a GSX scenery profile. Now if you land at an airport that you don’t have a GSX profile at and you get the “gate too small” for parking…that is because the parking for gates is coded for specific plane sizes based on wing span. Under the settings page(refer to manual) you can check the box that says “ignore wing span” for gates. That will allow you to park anywhere.

  5. Set up a “hotkey” to open the GSX menu instead of opening it from the menu bar. It will make life easier.

GSX just needs some setup/tuning when you first use, but once you get it dialed in…it works

I think you are missing the user guide, which you can access from a button in the FSDT installer. Many of your points are dealt with in there. Or you can google for specific questions, they’ve nearly all been asked before.

GSX has some quirks and is not especially intuitive to use, but when you learn how to work it then it’s worthwhile.

Hi all, is there a way to stop GSX opening the first door left when boarding on the PMDG 777? I have the latest GSX update from yesterday I think it was. But as soon as I click on boarding the first, second and sometimes the forth (or fifth?) will also open…

You can disable this door in GSX plane editor.

Hi Mark how do you do that? Is in the settings I guess?

Maybe start by reading the manual? Many of these issues are explained there. Also download ‘custom’ GSX profiles for the airports you are using. That way you dont need to edit anything yourself.

Open the GSX menu from the toolbar and select customize this airplane.

Since the new update it’s kind of laggy and buggy at my side.
I fly the Fenix a lot and done al the checkings and deletings in the gsx update or installer.

It won’t load the food services. Keeps telling me to open doors (which open automaticly), even closing and opening them again won’t work. And that holds off the whole proces.
Then, also since the update, the fueltruck wont leave. The close up the fueling, take the hoses out, go in the truck and just stay there.
Halfway the boarding proces the gate suddenly goes away!?!

Happens to me at every airport atm.

This is only valid for default airplanes using a default Fuel system (most of the add-on airplanes are not using this system) and when NOT using Simbrief, which of course in both kind of airplanes (default or not default fuel) is the better option, compared of having you to needlessly type a fuel quantity you already planned.

Very likely caused by not using it correct as suggested in the manual, that is opening it with a mouse click on the Toolbar only the first time you call GSX for that session, then only use the Hotkey to open and close, then closing it from the Toolbar after takeoff or before ending the flight.

Now I am confused: are you really reporting as a problem fact GSX does exactly what that option is supposed to do ? It’s an option precisely so you can disable if you don’t like it.

The reason for that option is just a precaution, to be sure GSX won’t cause any Simconnect traffic during the flight (so its impact would be exactly 0) AND to prevent that bugs in the Navdata API or the Navdata itself in some areas could possibly cause crashes when the Navdata is queried to get a list of nearby airports.

Insane boards a full 777 in less than 15 minutes.

Another thing that has an option clearly explained in the manual, to have GSX permanently ignoring the gate radius no matter how larger your airplane is.

The menu IS supposed to close, because the whole concept of GSX is you choose an option and then you don’t need anything from GSX until later on, so it would be completely useless having a menu taking valuable space on screen and also covering instruments click areas.

Of course, if you use the menu correctly as explained in the manual ( see my previous explanation ), so you never act on the Toolbar except for the first time you call GSX and you always use the Hotkey to open or close it during session, it would be way easier to use, faster to open and you won’t get all the side effects of missing text notifications or pop-ups menus in the middle of a service.

That’s the only reasonable complaint, so we’ll look into it. Right now, you can sort of obtaining a similar result by selecting “Restart GSX” from the menu.

That’s because you likely have a custom airplane profile you made with the previous version, and since Fenix changed all doors IDs in the update, you most remove all your custom profiles for the Fenix A320 from your %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Airplanes folder, because custom profiles always have the highest priority, but they contain doors IDs which are no longer valid now.

What’s the easiest way to see if an aircraft is included in GSX as default?

Open the airplane configuration page and, if it says “Internal GSX Database” in the first row under the airplane title, it means that airplane has a custom profile included with GSX.

If it says “Developer provided data”, it means the airplane developer has supplied a GSX.CFG.

Sometimes, it might say both: the lines are listed in order of priority so, the first line will tell you the available data sources for that airplane, in priority order, and the second line will tell you where GSX is taking its data from.

THanks Umberto for the update. I just noticed that running the configuration in the universal installer (for example if i want to configure the services for a certain airport) is taking forever since it updates each aircraft i have twice. Can this be optimized? (is alreday more than 8 minutes i the installer is still updating the layout files…)
