FSLTL - FS Live Traffic Liveries is live!

If I am not mistaken. the reason is that Air Bosna has a “JA” IATA code and it thinks that the JA registration of Japanese aircraft is that.
I think its a core Asobo AI traffic issue which continues!

That was my understanding too but why didn’t it start until SU15…?

Hey, Not sure if this is just an FSLTL issue? Doesn’t seem to happen with justflight models? Issue is when using realtime AI traffic via MSFS the planes that spawn at the gate have their nosewheel retracted? As soon as they start movong or pushback all is normal? I’ve been using realtime in place of FSLTL re more planes taking off and landing better immersion minus the nosewheel issue. Any workarounds?

What happened to a new update??? No small carriers nor small aircraft for these carriers, only large carriers and large aircraft.

I ditched in game traffic for FSLTL and saved a ton (no, not on my auto insurance) of FPS. Maybe 5fps but going from 35 to 40 is significant.

Anyway, planes taxiing and then disappearing. That happens to me a lot. Last night me and the plane that taxied in front of me waiting for an arrival. As soon as arrival landed the plane in front of me just vanished.

Not sure how prevalent that is but thought I’d mention it

FSLTL removes planes that are stationary for longer than 120seconds or something. I changed this setting to 360 seconds.

True, very useful feature but it would be nice if it could be selectively applied. I.e. not delete departures waiting for TO at the end of the runway.

Out of interest how would you see “selectively” be applied? I would think changing the, admittedly global, setting for removal would be enough.

Not sure what you mean, can you clarify? Unless I have missed something completely (which is entirely possible) I think the issue IS the ‘admittedly global’ setting.

Is there a way to set different deletion settings for arrivals vs. departures?

Okay, see what you mean, I may have misunderstood what you wanted. AFAIK you can only change one setting which applies to all ground traffic but I wouldn’t have thought that arrivals causes any problems since they upped the speed/time taken to vacate the runway.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but when using fstl at cruising height all ai traffic has a double with it. It’s probably something that I have done but wondering what the cure is if any.

The Base Models installer (current stable version 1.3.1) asks for two locations:

  1. MSFS Community Directory
  2. Install Directory

Am I correct in pointing to:

  1. D:\MSFS_Packages\Community
  2. I:\Addons_Linker\Tools\Utilities

Basically, should the installer point to my actual Community folder, and also my AL folder? Or should I point both locations to my Addons_Linker folder?

The only video I found online shows an older version of FSLTL that doesn’t have both folder locations as configurable options.

I personally just leave FSLTL to install with the FWB installer into the actual main Community folder.
I then go in and move the fsltl-trafficinjector.exe file out of the FSLTL installed directory in the community folder onto a folder located on my desktop & I create a shortcut to on my windows toolbar (to launch FSLTL manually if required). But I also Use Add On Linker → Options → Additional Options → Add-> {link to the injector exe}
with ‘wait for simconnect’, ‘start miimised’, and ‘close when sim closes’ options checked. Then hit ‘OK’
This means that every time I start the sim from Add On Linker FSLTL auto launches, so I never have to think about starting it or going near it’s settings. (which are mostly available from the toolbar in game anyway.

I also set up all the FSLTL default options in the
%APPDATA%\fsltl-trafic-injector\fsltl-trafficinjector-config.json
config file so I never need to manually enter them on each startup.

All in all making FSLTL a true ‘fire and forget’ add on.

Can you elaborate? You mean you see two AI aircraft sitting atop each other or just two flights with same flight number/callsign?

Two possibilities come to mind.

  1. In sim live traffic needs to all be set to OFF or you will be injecting in sim live traffic and FSLTL live traffic. The sourced live traffic comes from different services and with delays, but you could end up with duplicate AI as well as having too much ai traffic slowing you system down.

  2. You may accidentally have two FSLTL injectors (windows) running together. You only want one. Note: if the sim crashes I often find that FSLTL window can still remain open so next time I start the sim I end up with another FSLTL injector window opening and I find I have duplicate AI and my system runs like treacle. It is worth checking for this scenario. Just close one FSLTL injector if you find you have two running.

Thanks for the reply Brag. They seem to be a short distance apart and one behind the other. It’s kinda weird. I won’t be able to get to my machine at the moment but as soon as I can I will look at your questions and I’ll let you know. In the meantime thanks very much for your reply.

Thanks for that. At the moment I want the injector options dialog to come up every time because I’m trying to figure out the best settings for my system. And I’m having a lot of difficulty getting any GA ground/air traffic with the following:

MSFS+FSLTL+GAmod+AIFlow. I’m asking questions on the GAmod Discord, and the dev (Corsten) is trying his best to help. But so far, all I have is drastic FPS loss with no GA traffic at all. Once I get things sorted I’ll use your method to autostart FSLTL.

I don’t use GAmod, so can’t comment on it. I do see some GA now in FSLTL which is good. A few king airs, carvanas and lear jets which is good enough for me for most of the airports I fly into. Make sure your FSLTL IFR values aren’t set too high (I set my IFR to 50 for example) as AI traffic in general is a direct CPU loader. My system is good, but not bleeding edge any longer (5950/3090/4K) and I still dial back a lot in the sim graphics options etc to reduce CPU load in order to accommodate AI traffic. I also dial back all the other in game traffic like workers, vehicles, shipping etc to 5-10% as they load CPU too. Most perf issues with AI traffic relate to CPU mainthread (over)loading.

I may abandon GAmod and just let FSLTL handle traffic, living with the fact that I won’t get much GA in many small airports. I definitely do more plane spotting with my drone with FSLTL. It’s pretty cool seeing all the terminal/taxiway/runway activity with realtime aircraft.

In FSLTL, you mention IFR=50. What about VFR?

AIFlow has a neat feature called AICull, which builds a bubble (definable by either number of AI aircraft, or by distance from the user aircraft, and removes any traffic (air and ground, individually adjustable) outside of the bubble, which can help with CPU load.

I have VFR set to 1 (just a token amount) as I mainly fly airliners.
My FLTL Settings which I rarely change now are -

I spent a lot of time in the early days of AIGround and AIFlow with FSLTL, but used to find it way too complex to understand the actions from each. Now with teh sim AI being acceptable and FSLTL being mature, I generally don’t find the need for them now. I was finding I was spending way too much time adjusting parameters rather than flying.

To be honest, I’ve always had FPS issues with GA mod, it’s an awesome mod don’t get me wrong, but I think it’s just the way FS handles it that’s the problem. I only tend to use GA mod if I’m doing some GA flights, which it’s great for, and then don’t run airliner traffic.

The other great thing about FSLTL is traffic spotting, be prepared to do more of that than actual flying.
