I have been experiencing minor problems with my AMD GPU (MSI RX5700XT) lately and started to look around at various settings both in Radeon Software and in the sim. I was running on DX11 and noticed that, in the in-sim graphics setting “AMD FIDELITYFX SHARPENING” - set to 120, not something that I had noticed before. Having said that, I don’t look very often. I switched to DX12 expecting FSR2 to appear but graphics options still showed the same AMD FIDELITYFX SHARPENING.
Am I just way behind the times and simply unaware the FSR2 has been displaced and the sharpening tool is the latest DLSS opponent or is there something else going on?
If the AMD FIDELITYFX SHARPENING is the new norm how does that interact with sharpening tools in the Radeon Software - Super Resolution or Image Sharpening or even Chill and Boost etc? Incidentally, I have all of those disabled right now.
I cant answer your question directly, however I have the same GPU as you. In the AMD software I have set all game options to off or let software control (whatever the wording is for that). Using DX 12 I get fairly good solid and stable FPS at high settings.
FSR.2 option is under the anti aliasing settings, ie TAA etc.

Thanks. I have also been running with good frame rates, around 50-55fps, and smooth performance but with the GPU constantly at 99% utilisation. I have now mitigated that to some degree by applying a 45fps frame rate cap in the Radeon Software. Although it is now mostly at high utilisation (not a bad thing I know) but it does now drop when there is very little going on, like during loading etc.
The fsr option has always been there.
FSR2 has disappeared as a choice in the Antialising selection. How to get it back?

Yessir thank you that brought it back. Much appreciated. Now if I could just get those Dune splash screens to go away. Wish they wouldn’t do that for those of us who don’t care about dune…
