FSR3 has been formally announced, please add it

AMD announced their frame generation competitor FSR3.
A list of games have been showcased that will get it.

If this is the same as FSR previously it will work on all GPU’s Intel Nvidia and AMD.

And knowing the GPUOpen docs FSR can work with DX11 as well which confuses me a bit why Asobo decided to make it DX12 exclusive.

Anyway I hope Asobo will add this early on in the release of it.
It will make many simmers happy including myself.

EDIT:

IMPORTANT: “AMD confirmed FSR3 will work on Radeon RX 7000, 6000 and older GPUs. The company also confirmed FSR will be supported by other GPU vendors, and consoles.”

Nice,voted.

MS/Asobo should’ve been one of those partners…
Will they wait for MSFS2024 to implement this?

I hope they won’t wait that long

They should implement it with MSFS2020 and use it as a testbed for MSFS2024

AMD just announced it and with features like frame generation it would be a great addition for people with AMD GPUs.

Fantastic news from AMD and a must have for MSFS 2020.

Massive gain in framerates, and in Q1 2024;
A more fluid view …… FOR ALMOST EVERY GRAPHIC CARD !!!

We’ll see how it turns out. As with DLSS FG it’s not recommended by the vendor for raising sub-60fps to above-60fps, but only when you’ve already got a high frame rate and don’t actually need to run faster.

“Running at 60+ FPS prior to enabling FSR 3 frame generation is recommended to mitigate any latency introduced by the technology,” an AMD representative told Ars.

they said the same for nvidia, but it seems like people that run with 30 ish fps normally getting 60 now in MSFS seem to not notice any visual artifacting or glitching.
Pretty sure that’s due to the slower image movement in MSFS compared to let’s say Spiderman.
still a great thing from AMD to make it available for everyone instead of just 7000 series users.

I’ve heard mixed results on the nvidia side, but I’ll certainly give it a try when the new Radeon drivers come out!

[Personally I tend to avoid the motion interpolation on TVs too cause I don’t like the artifacting, but that’s a personal thing as I do a lot of video compression for work and so I notice this stuff hehe! :D]

Yeah I am not a fan of motion interpolation either, but this is quite a bit different from the ones we do in video editing.
This is just the start of the AI revolution  such progress in such little time allready.
If it happens to be bad somehow, i’m sure it’ll improve over time.
First itterations of software most of the time has issues minor or big.

that being said, i would NEVER use this in competetive gaming.
for a regular simming session or role playing games it’s fine imo.

It was implemented FSR2 for AMD graphic cards, but FSR3 is now available…when we will see this version in MSFS?

fsr2 still only available for dx12 that is in beta and is bug, they must do it available in dx 11 until dx12 is playable

Yeah since fidelityfx docs on gpuopen show how to apply their features to DX11 and some games did that. Asobo has no reason not to add it for DX11 imo.

Docs will be available soon :

Hopefully they don’t wait until FS2024 to implement it

ive been using the fsr thats in the sim currently, much better than nvidias offering, much lower ghosting on the avionics especially in the fenix a320

It’s going to be added, the question is when. It’s going to be a huge benefit for the consoles.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Fsr is yet to still improve on visuals.

i have fsr 2 in my sim, using nvidia rtx 3060
