FSReborn Sting S4

Oh good.

Just bought this, It is great. Love the realism settings. Things like this are what I miss from X-Plane. And now its all coming to MSFS.

A new clear canopy glass option is on the way I hear. Much appreciated.

Is anyone else of the opinion that the cockpit textures are a little bit dark and maybe just a bit difficult to see the details of the switches or more to the point, the areas surrounding the switches and avionics?

I am in VR so obviously textures are a little fuzzier than 2d fliers might be experiencing. Just, comparing it to other planes, I get a feeling of darkness and lack of detail.

Iā€™ve been flying the C310 from Milviz lately and the cockpits feel quite different.

I would also like to ask how the prop controls work. In Auto prop, I canā€™t get the right switch to do anything. Nor in manual so I might not be using it properly.

Iā€™m waiting for the manual to fly this plane. It looks really cool, but there are lots of moving parts that need an explanation.

Itā€™s possible your throttle and airspeed are too high for reduction in RPM to become possible. Try putting the throttle to about 20-22 manifold pressure (the upmost indicator on the engine panel on G3X), levelling the aircraft and then engaging the auto prop control and pulling the right switch down until your RPM reaches 5100-5300 RPM cruise range.

Plane looks awesome but nobody I know will purchase from the Marketplace anymore. Still waiting on Aerosoft updates that have been out for a month and they are an official partner. Sorry but canā€™t support the Marketplace anymore for so many reasons.

I understand the developers choice here but I urge him to consider another option like OrbX or something. Itā€™s really NOT that hard to push an update out to SimMarket or OrbX contrary to what the dev was saying on Mints stream.

Plane looks awesome though, I saw it on Howards stream and he was loving it. Again I urge you to at least consider it. Perhaps talk to some of the other etailers and or developers before making that decision based out of fear.

They did discuss in the pre-release Twitch (TheFlyingFabio) that the Marketplace will be adopting more streamlined procedure for updates in the future, which would allow the developers to simply upload the updates for already released products there without all the red tape on Marketplace end. This apparently convinced FSReborn that it was reasonable to go Marketplace exclusive.

Well I have been saying for a long time the Marketplace needs to be like STEAM and devs need direct access but isnā€™t that the exact same thing as pushing an update to OrbX, SimMarket, and or STEAM?

I really donā€™t see the difference here. The dev main worry was he would lose time pushing updates that he could be spending on the plane. Honestly that is just not the case with pushing updates to these platforms. Itā€™s as easy and uploading a file and pushing a few buttons. I mean sure you can hit snags but that happens on all platforms including the Marketplace with corrupt installers and crashing updating pack files etc. All part of the process I suppose.

On the other hand an exclusive Marketplace run at first seems logical. However people will still want to mod this plane and or tweak it as they see fit. No reason to not release it later onto one of these other sites IMHO.

The 90 and 270 hat switch view puts it behind the seats. I was wondering if this is intentional?

Just because Aerosoft is not pushing updates, it doesnā€™t mean other devs like myself will pursue the same behavior.

I just uploaded Sting S4 version 1.1 this morning to Market Place with some fixes an a new feature as requested by my customers since Friday (clear canopy option). So you might find although the update doesnā€™t happen immediately, it gets to everyone on MSFS either in few days or 1 week.

I also worked with //42 on the FreedomFox as a developer, and we update this product very often to MP.

Check the market places updates blogs, products are updated weeklyā€¦ donā€™t judge all developers based on what one developer is doing with their products please.

For me to release products outside of Market Place, would mean I have to create a custom DRM system (like Fenix, PMDG, etc.) since no other platform provides any forms of protection despite of their high sales fees. This means, I have to build license keys handling, CDM (content Delivery Management) handling, DRM handling, Installers, then support of all those systems and pay for those systems hosting montly, etc. and since I am doing all that myself, whatā€™s the point in selling via other 3rd party platforms? better to sell on my website myself right?, however all the process explained above, will just increase my developing time and handling of support considerable, making my product more expensive, which would have a detriment effect on itā€™s rating and accessibility for many customers, specially for an small airplane such as the S4.

And to add to the issue, then to reach XBOX users I have to submit to MP anyway! so what I would have achieved? re-inventing the wheel and increase my workload for very little benefit vs features that MP offers me as a 3rd party developer.

The decision to release via MP only, is pretty much for the benefit of everyone involved, lower price, less time from myself on supporting DRM, Installers, license keys, multiple delivery platforms, etc. which in turn allows me to focus in creating new content for MSFS and grow the business, FSReborn is a family business, we are small, it is Me and My wife as an accountant.

Letā€™s see how long my morning update reaches current customers, in any case, it is my mission to ensure my updates reaches my customers promptly. It the update takes too long, it will be my personal discussions with market place team to find ways to streamline the delivery process since I want all my customers to be satisfied.

But to put things in perspective, I submitted to MP new content the 17/May/2022, we were live the 27/May/2022, that is 8 business day, which is pretty good considering it is a new product and they had to test it for PC + Xbox to confirm if WASM was a problem for the S4. So I really doubt we will see updates taking several weeks to reach customers. It seems to me MP has an stigma from the past, but things are improving, after all you keep asking Microsoft to improve things, donā€™t you? well they are improving thingsā€¦ I think they deserve credit when they do it.

Kind Regards,
Raul

I bought it at the Marketplace, I would probably buy it again if it was released elsewhere as Iā€™d like a few less liveries

I am working on the best way to create a livery template. Few painters that contacted me privately are already doing someā€¦

No one is judging you or the devs. The market place is too slow. A week is unacceptable, If the work is done I am sorry I want it now today, the same day sorry but that is how it is. I pay for a product it needs a patch and the work is done, but I have to wait a week!! No way! Thatā€™s unacceptable to me.

The market place needs to fix up, and fix up quick. I bought your plane, it works, I can wait for a clear canopy and cosmetic things, but when it is things that are bad (not saying your product has anything like that) but when it is like that, a week after the work is done and uploaded is an absolute joke! and totally unacceptable, it needs to be now! anything else in this day and age is for the 4th time is this rant, unacceptable.

Whilst the marketplace is my last choice, due mainly to itā€™s lack of itemised receipts, if something is really good (like this product) I will still buy it.

I prefer Orbx but will still happily buy at the marketplace if that is the only option.

This is an excellent little aircraft by the way.

I will pass your feedback to Joerg and the Market Place team.

So far, pretty much all the content iā€™ve gotten from the in-game Marketplace has worked and been updated frequently. Maybe iā€™m in the minority (who knows), but functionality-wise, i havenā€™t had any issues with the Marketplace

Itā€™s a small sample size (unfortunately, iā€™m not rich :stuck_out_tongue:) and the few things iā€™ve gotten are from smaller teams (biggest would be Asobo and Carenado), so take my experience with a grain of salt

Well I have had to buy things again from Seperate stores, because the wait has got so bad! Search CTD-KDEN, my Markets version was 2 versions behind and causing massive CTDā€™s. The Dev even said themself its a joke. I have pretty much re-bought all scenery I actually enjoy again that I have bought through the Marketplace, and dont even get me started on the KitFox, and King Air.

Oh and the wonderful nigh on 2 Months of a non working Mooney! I will buy the Honda Jet, I bought this, I trust the devs and I watched reviews, but the Marketplace needs to fix up. We are talking about MS not some trash company, they can and should do it so that devs can deliver content updates to already released products immediately!

Okay, so at a lower power setting, DOWN allows you to incrementally lower the RPM when in AUTO prop. Presumably UP does the opposite. Why does a high power setting prevent this?

Also, in Manual prop you can lower the prop with the blue lever? So why have the AUTO prop?

I couldnā€™t lower the RPM at all, either in manual or auto.

Apologies, as I may simply be failing to grasp the whole purpose of this system.

it increases itā€¦ basically you can set prop auto, and use the other switch to tweak your RPMsā€¦ down or up, switch up will increase to a max of 5500 RPM, this is to prevent the engine going into ā€œYellowā€ and stress your engine.
