Let’s embark on a new epic flight adventure: 11.000 nautical miles along the western edge of the Americas, from the rugged shores of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, to the windswept wilderness of Tierra del Fuego. This journey follows the vast Pacific coastline, tracing a path through some of the most breathtaking and remote landscapes on Earth.
More information about this tour:
Preferred aircraft: Single turbo prop fixed wing, like C208 or K100. Simulator: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
I’ll post details about all legs in this thread about an hour before each take-off.
Very much looking forward to your company!
As usual the legs will also be streamed on Twitch and archived on the Youtube channel.
That should be an enjoyable trip. I’ve flown down the Western coast of South America before, and there are some stunning desert-like regions there. One area looks like a creme of a Capuccino!
Sorry guys, I’ll be back with this soon. I have decided to rework my FS tours project a little bit, under a different “brand” name, but at the core the idea remains and this tour will start soon, I’ll let you guys know.
There’s a good chance that I’ll start off the tour tonight. if you want to join in then please take a look at the description of the tour,
to get the discord link and some information.
at or around 8pm zulu
we’ll do this tour in FS2024 in a C208, K100 or similiar.
take off location will be PADU, Dutch Harbor
multiplayer server west europe
if case you can’t join at take off and want to join later, please add “DefragDad” as a friend in FS2024, so you’ll be able to teleport yourself in midair (supposed to work). Or I’ll pick you up at an airport along the way.
I will add a community calendar entry to make this event more visible, but I cannot guarantee that every single event will happen at the exact time as stated in the calendar, family always comes first. So best join the Discord server to see whether something is going on while you’re available.
Since someone asked: To make sure everybody knows what to do and how to join, here’s little reminder.
Legs usually start at 8 pm zulu time
Take a look at the “accouncements” channel on the FSS Discord server to find out whether a leg takes place and where to go to join.
You need FS2024 to fly along.
You need to join the West Europe Multiplayer Server.
Add “DefragDad” as a friend on FS2024 to make it easier to find me.
Pick an aircraft which can do at least 150 KIAS (a little more is better), that’s our average speed on the legs. I fly a Kodiak 100, another good choice would be a Grand Caravan or similar.
Tonight we will start from Port Hardy (CYZT).
You might want to join the Discord voice channel “Safaris” to make stuff easier during the leg. I usually stream these flights on Twitch, but I always mute Discord for privacy reasons, so you won’t be heard on the stream.
btw if you’d rather watch and fly along using twitch instead of discord, you’re welcome to do that as well - as usual i’ll be streaming these legs and you will be able to see yourself in the stream: Twitch
I’m sorry, yesterday I wasn’t able to do the multiplayer leg due to time constraints (wife came home late, I brought the kids to bed and fell asleep myself )
I’ll try to make up for it tonight.
