Payware and Freeware Rules
Any payware or freeware promoted by users of this forum must have proper approval from all authors of the content. Any redistribution of content without proper permissions will be deleted. Piracy will not be tolerated.
Okay so, lets see, nothing about links to aircraft.
most freeware aircraft are repaints or provided without discreet liability or restrictions, nearly every one of the FSX Import websites that distribute these aircraft do not restrict distribution. go read those policies yourself, that removes the liability here on this forum.
PAYWARE - totally different ballgame. if you PAID for a aircraft, you are legally bound not to distribute that aircraft or modify it. and i dont think you understand the context of what “Modify” means in this case. Modify means to disseminate and alter the contents for its original purpose. importing into a newer version or itteration of the same platform that content that uses a different engine and mandates some changes to configuration files is not covered in that liability. what IS Covered, is altering or sharing the content with or without monetary gain. you as the end user have every right to change a few characters or configuration entries to import content from an older iteration of the same “Named platform” into a newer one due to engine and rendering changes.
Importing aircraft, you HAVE to mod them just to get them to work at a basic level, so, if the rules forbid modding freeware, then every one of us in this topic should have been warned, content links, posts and rules violations posted to our accounts.
Oh noes, the dreaded forum mods and admins, if that was the case, this entire topic would have been locked and probably deleted. they do quite the awesome job of controlling things outside of the rules.
i have several of the freeware aircraft imported into my sim, i even have 4 PAYWARE aircraft imported into my sim that i bought from virtavia and milviz. i know 3 people who have the SAME aircraft as well.
i know exactly where they came from for the freewares and oh guess what…
“Feel free to make changes or distribute this aircraft” is written on at least 4 of their descriptions right on their source downloads. 1 aircraft is from avsim.com 3 from simviation.com… ooops there went your theory about the distribution.
do you have the authors email? phone number? direct contact for each of the aircraft JTBUCK has posted? are you snitching on him for each post? because unless you do, you are barking at a hollow tree and just flex posting a non-existent power status.
for a supposed developer, windows and game insider, you sure do blur the lines of the rules very verbosely.
which part of the Alpha did you join in on? June forums join date, heck, i was here in the forums 3 days after it first started in the original Alpha back in December of last year
