Couldn’t agree more. And the mirrored texture “bug” was from day 1. Not even sure its a bug because it only exists with 3rd party liveries, not their default livery. It tells me they intentionally or not, programmed the sim to not support 3rd party liveries for the 747-8i from the start. Pure speculation here.
Sorry I can’t be of much help. I don’t have a VR gear and I don’t use the Importer tool (creates more problems than solutions for me). My suggestion is to try the A321 mod to see if that works in VR as it uses default A320 panel. If it works, then I suspect your paraglider legacy panel is not interacting well with the VR interface.
Hi! Thanks! Ok, so… I do that, and now i see the livery, but is it possible remove this metal colour, for get a nice white?
Sadly every aircraft imported from FSX I have tried in VR causes an instant CTD.
I would open the mdl in MCX and remove any specular texture applied, and then make the specular color (part of the material properties) 0,0,0 to remove the chrome look.
I believe, in their default livery is no text at the place where the mirrored faces are located, but not sure at moment
you have to edit the model with the MCX, you have to play with the material of the plane, reflection, specular map,…
Nice one!!!
Now for the opposite effect. Wish Asobo will take a different approach to protect premium deluxe aircrafts, and make those cfgs available for mod pairing. Short of that, this is the next best solution for a fully functional environment at the moment…
Still tweaking the color tint to be more brownish but you get the idea.
very nice!
About a month ago, a contributor by the name of “Jan” publicly published a document that outlines the major steps in importing a legacy FS9 or FSX external model into MSFS 2020. He was also actively participating in this thread as he completed his mod and writing this document. I’ve attached the link to that document for you to review. Importing can be a complicated process (depending on model) but I’m thinking this could help you. Note it does not include VC / Panel import as that is a different situation and the success rate for legacy panel to fully function in MSFS is low.

Any progress to transfer blender models to simulation ? (not static objet, I’m talking about airplanes ) like mods. c172 but out changed exterieur model with any objet, it’s possible with blender ?
Hi, I was hoping to find you with a post about VR. I got the powered paraglider working with your instructions , as well as the Trike. But if I try to open either them in VR, it crashes the sim to desktop.
Was hoping it would work in VR, but not surprised. Hopefully someone will create a trike and powered paraglider that works native in MSFS 2020 and in VR
Trying to convert a Hawker Hunter - I can get the converter program to work - however the plane is pretty much invisible (only the pilot seat and a few other mostly internal bits are visible). fairly sure it’s to do with the number of textures available and they aren’t all kept in the same folders (fully) but have links between folders and if I understand this process correctly - all textures need to be in the same folder? Can someone share with me a texture.cfg that ‘works’ so I can compare?
That sounds like DRM protection for a payware aircraft, built into the model by setting visibility conditions on most of the parts.
Ahhh - I guess it could very well be the case as it was a payware one I was looking at converting for my own amusement.
No-one is making a Hunter afaik for MSFS and I’m a little obsessed with it! If that is the case then not much I can do but wait and hope…
It was a worthwhile experiment and I learned a few things.
Have you tried a freeware Hunter?
You can edit visibility conditions in ModelConverterX. There might be another Hunter package out there that won’t have the same issue, I know there were at least a couple different ones for FSX
Yeah - I’ll try some of the freeware ones tomorrow.
