FSX Import Showcase

Which SR-71 are you trying to convert freeware or payware. Reason for asking is that I originally created many SR-71s for FS since 2002 onwards. I’m currently working on a new one, so you may be wasting your time.

It’s a freeware one from FS2004 after further research. I gave up because I couldn’t get it to work. If you are creating a new one then that’s cool. I look forward to seeing it.

has anyone solved the issue with aircraft selected in showcase but remaining invisible?

I can confirm that Steam does work differently. I found the simobjects for the default in game aircraft from asobo, but despite placing the converted aircraft and its files in every directory I can think of, it doesn’t work.

They need to go in Community. I don’t have steam, but for many people (possibly lurking) this is
C:\Users_YourUser_\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

The file structure for packages is more or less the same for Steam as for the MS Store variant.

On the first start you where asked where to put downloaded packages. I can’t offhand remember what the default path was, I think it was %AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages. It should be referenced as InstalledPackagesPath in %AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\UserCfg.opt

The external packages go in ...\Packages\Community, next to the official packages ...\Packages\Official\Steam

nice! how do they handle? all my conversion fly terribly.

ive used tgat gorum to get my best modding info, thanks to google translate!

rgardless, superb work!

Let me guess, you’re trying to make some money and don’t want me converting a SR-71?

I have struck out, I think I’m picking non FSX models. Does anyone have a link to a website to get planes from?

No just making sure you’re not converting my still payware FSX SR model as its not intended for the new sim and won’t work.

splendid. how much of it works?

How did you do it? I’m stumped.
I used the converter and got it loaded in, and it comes in beautifully. But only one engine runs, and I can’t get the SDK Aircraft Editor to recognize it.
Are you able to sell it? I want.

I just picked up info from this thread. Plane Converter , Visual Studio 2019 downloaded and ran the converter and that’s it.

Autostart to run engines. Flaps, Gear, Throttles, Mixture and gauges seem to work, though haven’t tested extensively yet, have to go to sleep!

oh and short video of first flight…

Which B-17 is that. I have the A2A Wings of Power/AccuSim B-17.

This is Aeroplane Heaven’s B17F. Not sure the AccuSim one will convert well. I tried A2A’s P40 but not much worked on that.

Obviously not quality stuff but a bit of fun until A2A brings us the real deal :stuck_out_tongue:

Very nice. I think the A2A Wings of Power version is going to convert very nicely. I’m not sure how to edit it though. I’m thinking it would make more sense to delete or change all of the features that won’t convert, and do the conversion as the last step. All the textures seem to make it, even transparent windows and props, and like I said the windows even slide and fog up/de-fog when opened. There’s one dll file in the panel directory that probably contains all of the button functions and stuff. When i know a little more I will try it.
