Does anyone know why FTsim is unjoinable? I can’t get into their patreon. I’ve tried joining and it won’t let me. Did they shut their patreon down? Is there an alternative way to get the premium versions of their soundpacks?
I’ve already given up on their soundpacks. They’re better, sure. But they’re not perfect.
At least on the Headwind A339X and FlyByWire A32NX, they couldn’t keep up with the updates and its compatibility.
For example, they did improve upon any existing sounds but the moment the Headwind/FBW team pushes an update that introduces new sounds, FTSim is too late to respond to an update, so anything that comes from their soundpack replaces every single sound from the FBW aircraft. Including the new ones.
So my experience using FTSim sound packs was that it improves existing sounds, yes. But any other sounds that they “forgot” to include disappears making it actually less immersive than default.
So I gave up on them and just stick to the default.
FTSim needs to step up their game when it comes to payware content. Stop using patreon, that paywall type is annoying for customers to use.
Instead, they should work with third-party stores like ORBX, or SimMarket, or Aerosoft where people can just buy and have it installed.
Also, they should have just develop their own installer that auto-detects installed aircraft. So the installer can capture whatever files the soundpack has, and only replaces the ones they improve on, then recompile the sound pack and recompile the layout.json file automatically. So any update will always be compatible instead of replacing the entire soundpack files.
Only then I feel FTSim would be a worthwhile improvement. But unless they improve their business model and customer experience, they’re not getting a cent from me.

I agree, but they are great for default aircraft and seem to really improve things…I just can’t get them. I’m using the demos. Noone else seems to be making sound packs for the default 747 and 787. The new sound pack for the 787 isn’t great and neither is the 747 sound pack. The old 787 sound pack was perfect.
Any idea on how to join when it’s free? Or is it closed to newcomers and free for members?

Hi all, I have the same problem. So, does it mean that people have to wait until FTSim+ accept new members? I’m confused … why is that the case? Aren’t they getting paid for their sound packs once you have joined? Why would they not let new members join to generate new revenue?
