Active pause continues to simulate the plane flying but stops it from moving. Another example of this is when you are climbing and active pause, your airspeed will continue to drop and then when you unpause, you will instantly stall.
There are keybindings called āset pause onā and āset pause offā that you can assign to buttons in the settings. This will āproperly pauseā the game.
Great question! The entire purpose to āpauseā something is for it to temporarily stop functioning. I mean if you pause a movie, it doesnāt keep playing in the background only to skip ahead after un-pausing.
It is MEANT to allow you to do things like change settings while the plane stops mid-air but effectively keeps flying. In practice it is actually pretty useless.
Hi there,
Indeed, this is a deliberate choice by the developers. Instead of closing this out, Iām going to move it to Community Support for others to see.
In addition to the Wishlist topic suggested by Speed1994, you may also want to look at this one (feel free to vote for both if you would like ā theyāre not duplicates):
Active pause is pretty useless. FSX pause actually paused the simulation (including time) while allowing us to interact with the plane, I have no idea why this isnāt in this sim.
that is the dumbest ā ā ā ā I have ever heard of. So Im flying a long flight, my child cuts their finger off. I gotta say to my wife, sure, we can take him to the hospital just let me finish this flight first. lol
No, this is not a real example.
Im glad my bad example caught your attention. but the same can be said for diarrhea, or the cops knocking at your door, or cooking dinner while on a 6.5 hour flight. Im glad my point was made. Just an FYI, my kids are in their 30ās, so if they cut their finger off, they are on their own. lol. Ill come visit, but not if im in the middle of a flight.
You are obviously missing the point. Why the F should EVERYONE have to find this out the hard way? Are you suggesting that fuel should continue to be used in active pause?
