Great question! The entire purpose to “pause” something is for it to temporarily stop functioning. I mean if you pause a movie, it doesn’t keep playing in the background only to skip ahead after un-pausing.

It is MEANT to allow you to do things like change settings while the plane stops mid-air but effectively keeps flying. In practice it is actually pretty useless.

Active pause is pretty useless. FSX pause actually paused the simulation (including time) while allowing us to interact with the plane, I have no idea why this isn’t in this sim.
