Fuel run out?

I have fuel setting at constant 50%, yet as I get close to destination the plane loses power. Working the throttle back and forth fixes the issue momentarily, then it happens again… and again… In some cases I have fallen well short of the runway. I generally fly GA and mostly the C172, but it has happened to other aircraft as well.
I have any settings on for ‘misadventures or failures’. It also happens sometimes for takeoff.
Tried a complete re-install to no effect.
Anyone experiencing this as well, or have an explanation/solution please?

Are you adjusting the mixture for your cruise altitude and again during descent? What’s your altitude when it happens? Are you drawing fuel from one tank instead of both? Do you have any auto-assists active? Any other key/axis bindings that might be interfering?

What do you mean by “constant 50%”, is this the setting you start with on the setup page or have you made some changes in the Assistance settings? It’s possible to select “unlimited fuel” - is that what you mean, although that’s totally unrealistic.
You need to set enough fuel for your planned flight (plus reserves) at the initial setup of the sim and then ensure you change tanks as required as you use it, where the aircraft you are flying expects that - the C172 doesn’t but many do. How much fuel depends on power settings including mixture adjustment. If you don’t understand this then I’d suggest you have a look at a few Utube vids on correct operating procedures.

I’m wondering if they mean the mixture is set at 50% (which is a physical lever position, meaningless at face value), and it’s getting too lean during descent.

In assistance options I have both Automixture and unlimited fuel ON. I have now turned them off. Hopefully this will have an impact.
The problem seems to happen mostly on the glide slope. I am drawing fuel from both tanks. It has however also happened when on the runway for takeoff. It also happens in more than one plane.
Thanks to all for replying.
