Even older versions of Phil’s Mobiflight G1000 overlay should work. He’s updated it a few times, but it was really only to fix small things. I still use it regularly in Air Manager as well as other various instruments I’ve downloaded from this thread and other sources.
The question is, did you install the Mobiflight and install its WASM module into your community folder? And if so, double check in that folder to ensure that there’s not another folder with the module it. That’s a common mistake people make installing the Mobiflight module.
The installation instructions can be a bit confusing. The WASM module folder is inside another folder in the Mobiflight installed app. A lot of people just move the root folder. I made that mistake the first time I installed it.
OK It looks like I have it right and when I ran the installer it said the WASM module was already installed. Do you have a link to the correct way to install it or can you give me the instructions?
Thanks
I’m at work atm, so don’t have the exact folder names…
The best way to ensure that you have the WASM module installed correctly is to look in the folder in your community folder.
If inside the WASM folder you see only another folder, it’s installed incorrectly. If you see a file / folder structure that looks like it does for other mods, it’s correct.
If it looks correct, then chances are there’s a step you’re missing somewhere along the way. I would pay extra attention to these 2 steps in Phil’s Mobiflight installation instruction. Failure to do this may result in Mobiflight not working.
Defiantly doing something wrong. Need to play with it some more but it is not working for me at all. I’m sure it is one of the connections. Going to try some more shortly.
So you have the Air Manager plugin running (FS2020BridgeSevice) so that AIr Manager can talk to MSFS? One issue is that this plugin is rather fragile (Sim Innovations will be replacing it soon). It will lose connection wtih the sim (even though the status says connected) after shutting down the sim. It requires that the service be restarted. The quickest way is to just run the service installer file.
Sorry I was out of town until last night and was not able to get it going before I left. Did not try much. Going to try tomorrow and will let you know.
I have a few projects going in Air Manager and was thinking today I need to pick 1 and finish it.
Mooney M20R panel
PA28 Arrow Panel - different radio stacks
PA28 Turbo Arrow Panel
Seneca Panel
G1000 panel with two screens - 1 for each G1000 plus others
Each of these panels has items that need to be written or fixed to work with FS2020
Hopefully you can get it all working again. Sounds like you have a lot of nice projects ahead of you.
I’ve only really tried making 1 instrument so far - a basic flap position indicator for my Bonanza and SR22. I really need to dive into it and get into more details. Particularly with that HSI I used to be using for my M20R panel. It now no longer works at all since Air Manager came out of beta.
I have a working 525 HSI in my mooney panel I can share with you. It is an older copy I downloaded from someone of the AM forum. I had some before I could not get the glide slope working on. But this one worked last time I checked. vSend me a PM if you want to try it.
That’s the one I was using as well - the 525. Since AM4 came out of beta, the knobs no longer work, nor does the GS indicator unfortunately. I’ve looked through the code, but I can’t figure out what could be wrong with it.
The fuel and other indicator strips you sent me for the Mooney still work great though and I’m still using them in my Mooney panel.
Once the Turbo Arrow is available in the marketplace, I’ll be getting it. Will have to build a panel for that as well, although not sure I’ll be building up instruments for it in the short term but using defaults - assuming they work.
I have been struggling with the same problem as you for 2 days now.
Not knowing what I did wrong despite following installation instructions.
But I finally got my G1000 working ingame.
Here attached a pic of what files I exactly have in my community folder.
I installed mobiflight on another hard drive than C: (I read that it can cause some trouble in programs x86).
I guess having the complete file “mobiflight-event-module” and again the “layout.json”, “manifest.json”, “event.txt” that are comprised in the file “mobiflight-event-module” is maybe unnecessary. But I’m pretty sure having the “StandaloneModule.wasm” in community is what did the trick.
In any case I won’t mess with those again, even if some files seem to be 2x in there like I said, since it now works!
Hope this helps you, i wish I had found such a pic earlier
I’m having the same problems. The PFD is not showing airspeed, the center screen is not displaying the map, and heading and altitude knobs wont even work with the mouse.
That’s not the problem I was having at all. I was having an issue with a single Air Manager instrument (Bendix King 525 HSI) that worked previously. The updated version with the release version (vs the beta) stopped working. That’s now fixed for me that I have an older version of the instrument again.
Otherwise, Air Manager works like a charm in every way.
Hi - I have Air Manger 4.0.1 and it works great with “steam gauges” on my touch screens with knobster (the “official” one).
I have the Beta Plugin 3.5 for Air Manager downloaded. When I run it, all looks fine - my problem is that if I use the Generic Garmin G1000 overlays in Air Manager (I have two Wimaxit touch screens - one for PFD and one for MFD), and then “pop-out” the PFD and MFD glass screens from MSFS 2020 (I usually fly the C172 Skyhawk G1000), the popouts keep disappearing, and the knobs/softkeys on the overlays don’t seem to affect the instruments in the plane. I have knobster (official), and it seems to work on the touch screens, but not affect PFD or MFD in airplane itself. Soft keys on the Wimaxit x 2 make a “clicking” sound if pressed, but again no affect on the instruments in plane itself.
So I guess my main questions are (1) How do I keep the popouts permanently showing (and not disappearing), and (2) How to I get the Air Manger touch screens (knobster and touching the soft keys etc.) to actually work in the aircraft itself?
I am clearly doing something stupid - and not for the first time!
If I don’t use the generic overlays and simply popout the PFD and MFD screens to my Wimaxit x 2, they show fine and don’t disappear, but I can’t do anything with the soft keys.
Should I be using something other than the generic overlays in AM perhaps?
Thanks in advance (again!), Alasdair [aka Flybasher16420].
If you’re using the built-in G1000 overlays, they don’t work with MSFS. If you look at the LUA script behind it, it’s only X-Plane commands. That’s why they don’t work. You need to have Mobiflight installed as per the OP in this thread. The G1000 bezel you need is linked here and made by @XAxSys who started this thread.
As for why you can’t get the pop=out screens showing, you likely have a solid background for your panel and it sits on top of your pop-out. You need to set your panel to transparent.
Brilliant CM - thank you once again. I have the MobiFlight stuff downloaded and will use these panels - I incorrectly thought the MF G1000s were totally separate from the AM G1000s.
Will go away and do as I am told!
And thanks for being so patient.
