Fun canyons outside the Americas?

Hi, I enjoy tearing around through canyons at low level such as the Grand Canyon and Marble Canyon, but a lot of the time recently my only chances to fly are when it’s dark outside where I live (I prefer to always fly with real time and real weather), so I was wondering if anyone can suggest more such places in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia where I can fly through during daylight when it’s too dark in my own hemisphere? The closest thing I know of is the Mach Loop in Wales and the Stryn Valley in Norway, which are also fun but I’m looking for something deeper and more canyon-like.

Heya,

I would propose you to visit the Verdon gorges in southeast France, likely the most US-like canyon in Europe

Some information on the real location:

A bush trip available on flightsim.to to familiarize with the area:
https://it.flightsim.to/file/16152/the-gorges-of-verdons-and-the-alps-of-haute-provence

Finally, an adrenaline video of high speed flight into the gorge:

I am pretty sure you will be up challenge

Happy (and f-a-s-t) flying!

Take a look at the Canary Islands (La Gomera, Gran Canaria…).

These feature some small to big canyons too and have some good elevation data

Anyway you wanna fly into this with something other than a fast jet

These sound great, thank you! Also I had a look on Flightspots and they suggest the Indus Gorge in Pakistan.

Perhaps check out the Viaduct de Milleau, across the George du Tarn.

Also a very nice spot, although I only visited it in RL so far, not in the MSFS yet, the Todra and the Dades Gorge in Marocco.

(now imagine a Junges JU 52 coming up almost on the wingtips throught the gap ahead)

Start near the top of the world in Switzerland, then you can scream down through all the valleys, over the glaciers, and past the 100’s of dams. I used this pln for one of our community flights last year, we took Caravans and performed STOL landings on every dam. The terrain is breathtaking and the textures are crisp. It has numerous long downhill sections through steep ravines.

I plan on sitting down and trying it with the DG-808S glider this weekend.

Mamu82’s Project Lifts adds all the cable cars and ski lifts to the area, which makes the ski resorts look more like resorts. Right after take off you can spot the 120 year old paddle steamers on Lac Lucerne, from Henrik’s shipping mod.

Check out the Bushdivers’ and Bushpilots’ Discord servers. Lots of flight plans from all over the world - most of them including canyon/valley flying.

… probably more scenery than fun, both sites claim to be the deepest in the world:

Kali Gandaki Gorge (and Marshyangdi Canyon): 18.300ft deep
NEP_kali_gandaki.PLN (3.6 KB)

Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon: 19.700ft deep
CHIN_brahma_gorge.PLN (7.2 KB)

decide for yourself…
