Funfact, Timberline Lodge hotel from The Shining

This hotel was used for exterior shots in the famous movie :“The Shining”
(Southside of Mount Hood, East of Portland)

In fact, for the movie, they built a replica of it in the UK I believe?

Here’s a little docu.

Funny thing is, the inside of the real hotel looks nothing like the movie set.

If you ever go in there, you’re like WTH? :joy:

yeah, I read they used an inside replica of an other hotel.
(don’t believe Stephen King was really happy with the movie)

For filming, I think they used the inside of the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. I used to live in Boulder and we would go to Estes Park sometimes to a little go cart and bumper boat mini amusement park there, when I was a little kid.

And that’s the Stanley of the Stanley Steamer, steam powered car fame. How’s that for a fun fact inside another fun fact.

Red rum. Red rum!!
