Fw-200 Condor questions

Could not find in official manual, here, by search engines or AI assistants, NOR in Discord. Questions.

  1. Any performance tables? In app checklists list just RPMs for different phases or flight, but not any mainifold pressure or leaning hints?
  2. Checklists, other than in app?
  3. As it has VOR capability, can I use ILS stations for approach guidance. It tuned but hard to figure how to benefit from it, naturally arrow pointing to ILS gives some hints?
  4. As there are no paint kits, can I try to edit DDS files for liveries directly? Hoping for Finnish Aero OY semi-fictional livery,

There’s a handbook in the documentation folder for the Aircraft.

Yes. The manual refers to in sim check lists. Those specify throttle full forward at takeoff, then RPMs for different phases of flight. So we should use full throttle, max manifold pressure always?

I personally use 0.7-0.8ATA and 1800rpm for cruise, gives about 190KTAS and solid range.

I treat the engines like radials. Throttle all the way up and prop to the max. I don’t think there’s a red zone. Make sure you throw the two fuel switches on the right to the middle position. The starter tanks (top position) are small.
Climb to 3500 meters, adjust the mixture, and cruise. You can see I’m flat out at 330 km/hr.

Well naturally applying maximum engine power is going to give you the highest speeds and yes you cannot fail any components of this aircraft because it’s not designed with failures/engine management. I am sure if you did that in real life you would cause all kinds of problems. Not to mention limiting the range.

The starter tanks are also only supposed to be used for take off and landing (not starting the engines and taxi) so they are therefore smaller than the other tanks.
Here is how you should be using the fuel tanks according to the manual:

Thanks for your comments. Those are helpful and increase realism. ChatGPT suggested, without any reference, throttle 0.8-1.0 ATM and 1800-2000 RPM in cruise. That’s then perhaps the best we can get w/o actual performance tables.
