Could you please make a different thread?
It sounds like a completely different issue.
This thread is about G1000 rebooting intermittently on PS5 Pro / PS5.
Its NOT about anything freezing up.

Update from my side: I dived more into using the Cessna Citation Longitude with the G5000 Avionics: Great plane! Buuuut: The avionics are constantly crashing and reseting. Even the two GTCs in the middle crash while you use them. So you dive into some sub-sub-sub menu and … bamm… crash, and your are again in the main menu. Really annoying. You can’t leave open the flightplan on one gtc and something else on the other. They crash and you are back to main menue. So it’s definetly not only the g1000 avionic, they are almost all broken on ps5.
The autothrottle also disengages randomly (I suspect the avionic’s subsystems crashes as the same cause). This is so annoying. It also doesn’t stop yelling “autothrottle”…. Yeah… if you need A/T, than don’t disable it yourself in stable flight, dear plane! It is worse if you use a higher simrate to survive al long cruisephase.
I also found a new flavour of this crash: This time the fadec itself crashed. A/T was not online, the plane was stable on FL410, leveled out, with a little increased simrate. Then the thrust setting went to almost zero by it self. I didn’t even held the controller in my hands. It just reduced thrust without AT. I had to manually increase it again to keep the plane from falling from the sky. I had this two times today. I also suspect an avionics reset as the same reason behind these issues.
PC24 does similar. AT switches off, throttle lever moves by itself to zero and plane loses altitude.
Only way I know it’s happening is engine sound changes.
You are stuck with the plane until mission ends.
Flew the citation longitude with the g5000 again today. I love this plane, really! But the today on a longer distance flight between Kairo and Tunis the MFD was crashing every 10 seconds in the approach phase. Even the opened EFB seems to have crashed and resetted its position on the map, so forget to look things up there. And during final approach pfd aligning and several moments with the garmin logo full screen.
This is so much gamebreaking. So I eyeballed the approach (yea, I could have trusted the ILS approach a bit longer, but i was afraid to have this crash too - so i decided to trust my eyes to guess a 3° final approach… at night with mediocre visual conditions… great.) …
And: I can’t count how often the gtc crashed during usage. Also the crashes of pfd, mfd and gtc already start, when you haven’t moved the plane a meter are about to initialize the takeoff parameters.
Update: i flew again the citation longitude today: You can not have a/t on for longer. It disables itself so so so often (and than it does not stop yelling “autothrust” until you turn it on / off again). Today I thought, I have seen a warning message in the pfd of the g5000 in the moment A/T disabled itself. It was away before I could read it.
I am not sure if it is a symptom of the avionic crashes we see on PS5 regularly. That’s why i am telling this in this thread too.
I made a topic on those A/T disabling issue. Please contribute and vote for that issue also if you habe that issue too:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/autothrust-disengages-itself-randomly-on-ps5
I also made a thread about this in the pc24. Can’t recall the name though, in which i report that behaviour. Does your flight director disconnect before the AT disconnects?
No, the FD stays on… so does the AP. It disconnects independently from other systems.
Thank you for the bug report.
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
Hey folks,
Just providing a quick update that this has now been moved from feedback-logged to bug-logged. Having had a further look, I’d imagine that some of the other similar threads about other avionics resetting are likely linked to this same issue.
Thanks as always for your diligent and details reports!
The MSFS Team
Maybe the Autothrust disconnects on ps5 are also tied to the issue. Maybe…. Autothrust is a avionics subsystem and maybe it’s disconnects (as shown in a different thread) are a symptom of the same issue… maybe. I am speculating.
The AT disconnects on PC too especially for pc24
For me it’s all the autothrottle planes on ps5. Especially for me: Cessna Citation Longitude and PC 12 NGX. No flight without the constantly occuring autothrottle annoyance.
New record: on final approach to talinn this evening the g5000 pfd was almost stuck in rebooting. I can’t stand seeing the garmin logo anymore… or AHRS align - keep wings level…. Or crossed out speed and altitude scales…
During final approach alone it crashed about 5 - 7 times… please Asobo… give us a working hotfix as soon as possible. This is at the edge of unplayable. And the amounts of mfd or gtc crashes i did not count.
Hello Dev Team,
I have the same issue on PS5. It seems like it is an reboot of the systems every 2-5 minutes. Sometimes it reboots and in the next time some fields get red in on the screen, like seen in some videos here from other users. PFD and MFD also have this problem. It happens on ground and also if I am airborne. Hope you can fix that problem immediately.
Regards

This happens continuously on most every flight on the G1000 in career mode on PS5 Pro. Even had the AHRS reboot on an approach during my Instrument check.
In all cases it loses the GPS signal as well, but fortunately it does not disconnect the autopilot.
Sometimes it even goes back to the splash screen…sometimes the PFD and sometimes the MFD.
I’ve noticed similar behavior on some of the other aircraft that have Garmin panel-mounted GPS units such as the PA-28 Dakota where those GPS units will constantly reboot throughout the flight as well.
Even the 737 Max with the Boeing Avionics is affected. I have done one Flight from Rome to Jeddah today. The avionics crashed constantly but came back for a while …. until the time for the approach came. Then it crashed, and did not come back. The artificial horizon stayed gone in rebooting mode… also the altitude and speed ribbons failed. The Map on the mfd was gone almost the whole flight.
So i tried to land with the HUD, but the horizon was gone there too.
Yeah…. thanks MS/Asobo for this…. I had bad weather and lost almost all flight information during final approach - in a multi million credits plane… I was so angry in that moment! Fix this…. NOW!
This is unplayable! It’s been a month since the latest “hotfix” broke the avionics on PS5. When do we get a fix? I am very very very annoyed at this point.
The autopilot also lost a logged-in glideslope. Maybe due to the avionics crashes…. who knows.
Again a day with a long range flight from Kairo to Milano in a 737 Max on PS5: at the end the pfd and mfd crashed and did not come back. They were stuck in aligning or something. The artificial horizon was completely black… for about half an hour at least. Again a landing without critical information as also the backup horizon failed from time to time. Partially also the speed and altitude ribbons were also gone.
After landing, they came back online…
Honestly, this is really a bad joke! We need a fix NOW!
Hi Osobo,
First thanks to MS to allow you to provide us with one awesome sim to the PlayStation platform.
I was waiting for your arrival with anticipations. That said was wondering if you can push a hotfix for this Garmin issue? because it’s truly an annoying bug for us in the beginning of our careers. I truly do not want to wait for Sim update 5 to address this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
The Moose.
