G1000 NXi Does Not Filter Out RNAV RNP AR Approaches

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Planes (I think basically all GA G1000 stock planes in the sim) that are not approved to fly Authorization Required RNAV RNP approaches still allow selection of these approaches in the avionics.

One example is shown below, but this applies across multiple aircraft and multiple approaches. This example is from the C172 G1000 NXi variant and KMDW RNAV RNP X RWY 22L.

The approach plate shows this is an “Authorization Required” approach, however the Garmin allows the pilot to select and insert this into the flight plan.

This same issue existed several years ago for G3000 avionics (The TBM930 for example) in MSFS2020 and that was fixed, but the G1000 avionics are still incorrect.

I believe this bug exists in both simulators, but the screenshot below is specifically from MSFS2024.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load the C172 G1000 cold and dark. Power up avionics and select a destination with AR approaches.

  2. Press the PROC button and cycle through the approaches. You will see AR approaches are shown and selectable.

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

I’ve duplicated this error at numerous airports with the stock 172 and other G1000 equipped stock aircraft. I’ve found It normally will fly the the approach waypoints but never lets you activate the “approach” button, and therefore never arms/activates the GP.
