So, the G1000’s OBS function as well as the timer don’t seem to work. This is frustrating as I am an IFR student and I use FS2024 to practice. I’m able to select VORs as RNAV waypoints but can’t change their course using the OBS. Moreover I can’t use the timer to time my turns
I know the OBS is broken but what part of the timer doesn’t work. I just loaded in to the C172G1000 and tested the timer. Up, Down, setting the timer value, start, stop, reset - they all worked exactly as expected.
PC, Steam, Sim ver 1.5.4.0
Whenever I try it, the Timer just doesn’t work. Like I can pull it up, but when I hit the start button it just stays at 00
I just can’t believe the OBS is still broken. I stopped using 24 for this and a number of reasons months ago. I posted a question if it was broken and it was known. I posted on Working Title’s Discord and got some half ased rubbish answer. Unbelievable. I am self employed and if I ran my business the way this developer runs this circus I would have no customers.
I use OBS in 2020 just about every time I fly something with the G1000 suite. Is it not working in your 2020?
I assume when you say “hit the start button”, you’re actually hitting the “ENT” button to start the timer???
Regards
As of now I only have 2024 installed and that’s where I have this issue. I haven’t tried it on 2020 yet, but maybe I will later
I asked this because you have 2020 tagged in your original post.
Ok! Nice to see that i am not alone! Same bug here in the C172 analog with the GNs530 and GNS430.
If I select a VOR, it doesn’t diplay the station code nor the Distance. The OBS are not active and I have the message “OBS not available” in the GNS530 (message section).
ADF not functional as well.
But everything works in FS2020..
Using FS2024 1.4.20.0
