When using pop outs on physical G1000 units these always show like all systems are up and running. Turning off everything, the G1000 in the aircraft view (main monitor) does go black. Yet the undocked PFD and MFD do not. This is very unrealistic and should be considered a bug.
What are you using the pop outs with. RSG, Air Manager, something else?
I am using MSFS´s inbuild G1000 NXi from Working Title on 2 physical units (Virtual Fly G1000)
Ah ok my work around will not work for you. I use a black mask over mine that turns on/off with the power.
In all the time using the NXi I’ve never seen them turn off when popped out
