I was under the impression that the G1000nxi was added in Sim Update 10 to the base game. Prior to SU10 you had to download it via the content manager.
I have just done a reinstall and my question is do I still need to install the version which appears in the content manager or can I just ignore it now SU10 is out?
Since it is still in the content manager and on the marketplace, I would still download it to avoid any issues.
AFAIK Its used in 3rd party planes that have the G1000, it hooks into the new built-in code.

It’s only needed for third-party aircraft that don’t have the G1000 Nxi. If you don’t have any, or don’t want to use the Nxi, you can remove it. It will still be present for first-party aircraft.
