Silly question, what is the legend on the NEXTAD showing?

You are asking about the 0-27000 green-to-gray legend in the lower right corner of the display?
That’s terrain height. You can’t see much of the terrain on your map as it is mostly obscured by your weather radar.

Ah, okay. That makes sense. I was thinking it was some type of legend / key for the NEXRAD data.l, but now that I test it out, yea I can see it still available with NEXRAD turned off.

So the colours are just light to heavy precipitation then ?
