G36 Improvement Project

Yup. Throttle, propeller, and mixture full forward. Turn fuel pump on high until fuel flow maxes out, then turn pump off. Retard throttle to about an inch open, or if you have tool tips activated, about 15% works nicely. Crank starter, and she should fire up.

Seems to be a new issue with 0.6, I have the G1000 0.3.2 mod installed as well. Man pressure and FF show ā€˜NaN’.

See FAQ in OP. Looks like a wrong installation.

I redownloaded the G1000 mod. Is working now.

Your work to improve this airplane is much appreciated. Thanks!

Seems to be an issue with version 6. Started my flight at the end of the runway and the engine stalled as soon as the aircraft loaded and wouldn’t restart. Eventually got it going by opening the throttle about 10%. Stalled again as soon as I closed the throttle. Comes good after a while, so is it some sort of warmup issue.

See the Frequently asked questions in the first post for an explanation.

I did have a quick play with G Force readouts. Under normal operation, from level flight, it won’t exceed about 1 G in either direction, so pulling up it reads about 1.95G, and when descending it approaches close to 0G.

However, through fiddling around with ALT/VS, I was able to get it to ā€œporpoiseā€, but this was quite outside what could be considered normal operation. Through diving then pulling up, I got the AP to pull about 3.5G, but this is still well within the ratings in the POH.

This mod is simply awesome. Is the engine start simulation enhanced in the Turbo version as well?

Great thanks. Hadn’t scrolled down far enough to notice the FAQ. A shame the realism improvement means you can’t just jump in for a quick flight when you don’t want to do a full start. I see the turbo normalised version doesn’t have this enhancement, so I’ll follow the instructions so I can have both installed and then get thge best of both worlds.

You should be able to do that, just setup the flight to start from a runway and the plane’s already good to takeoff

Nope, stalls every time.

I’ll try it again, but I did that yesterday and it worked without an issue… but maybe I hadn’t downloaded the latest version yet

The only thing you have to do is follow the correct start-up procedure from this point. Use the fuel pump, set throttle, start engine. You will be ready to go after ~10 seconds. I don’t understand why this is an issue…

Only because its the only aircraft I have to do this for. Its not a big issue, just different.

It’s a small tradeoff that unfortunately I couldn’t work around. I don’t think these 10 extra seconds on the runway would bother anyone.

I’ll have to try something later, but I had one time where I played the intro animation until the aircraft was on the runway and it didn’t shut down. Not sure if it is related but worth a try?

I like it much more its really turning into what a 36 is like in real life, they can be a real ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  to start when hot and this start procedure is the way it is, if you don’t like it that way then get a game.

So I’m not entitled to an opinion?

Great thanks, I’ll give it a go.

You could try including a modified runway.FLT file to increase the throttle position on loading. That way it won’t be loading at idle and in theory should resolve the issue. Haven’t had time to test that myself yet.

I just flew my first flight this morning with the latest mod. Fantastic! Thank you! The Bonanza is now the only aircraft I fly in the sim.

I’m having issues with the flight dynamics, full elevator input only moves it a little up or dow and full bank only gives 1/2… I deleted all mods, tried the G36 as it comes in the sim and works fine but when installed the mod it doesnĀ“t work
