Brief description of the issue:

Autopilot Non Functioning after reloading the plane

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

yes

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Load up into a flight, climb out, set autopilot. Now reload the flight, or reload the plane, and try to set autopilot. It will turn on, but HDG, NAV, ALT, etc, will not show up, will not function. The bar usually becomes dark blue that has the Autopilot functions on it, such as AP, ALT, NAV, VS, etc. AP will show, but the others will not. A sign they are offline is the bar will not have separators in it.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Intel chips, modern gaming computer, 4GB of VRAM, 32GB of RAM, GTX1660, 4 SSD Samsung SSD’s

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

1.37.19.0

In the above screenshots, you can see the issues going on.

I have installed this into my planes (Wittman Tailwinds) as requested by customers, but am having quite a few issues with this autopilot. I thought it was my planes, but started testing the XCubs and found them to be having the same issues. My thoughts are, this is a AP issue. This is supposedly now integrated into the G3X, from what I was told by someone in the WT forum in Discord. Also, when first having issues with this, the person in charge of WT sent me to a Github webpage that was a post on coding buttons. I am not sure this has anything to do with that. But someone in the room was able to help me out and at least get the AP bar to show up, but after all systems working, doing a reload of the plane, or a reload of the flight, the AP suddenly was offline again, the bar gone blank. I then found that the XCub was doing this also.

This was pretty difficult to pen down.

Also, for those interested, when linking into the new G3X, when before you were linked into the AS3X, there are some settings somewhere in the System Config / Autopilot section that need to be ‘in’ the autopilot section for your Autopilot system bar to function and also for Autopilot to function, otherwise its dead. Copying out the Autopilot section of the XCub to my plane restored Autopilot functionality and also restored the readouts on the AP bar in the top of the G3X screen. But… (But… ) if you reload the flight or reload the plane, if you are a developer, this is a nightmare because it breaks the Autopilot… Reloading doesnt help. You have to powerdown the sim and restart.

Hope this helps.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I spoke with Matt at WorkingTitle. He suggested it is the Dev Tools Aircraft Selector. He stated it forces systems and can cause issues in his gauges. He suggested I reload or select another plane by going back to Main Menu and reloading there, and going back into the flight. This worked, the autopilot was functioning properly.

Better then restarting the sim, which takes 5+ minutes.

Perhaps one day, it can be sorted and we can reload them as usual when we test. We developers reload and reload and reload planes when testing and tuning functionalities, mesh animations, adjustments to the flight model, etc. Reloading 100 or 200 times a day is a lot. Much time.
