Hi, since SU15, I noticed that the new interface is extremely dim, even at maximum brightness setting. Also, I cannot changing the brightness of the screen at all, changing from 0 to 100 % doesn’t make any noticeable difference.
I’ve tested this with the stock VL-3, the BLL Xcub and GotFriends’ Monster NXCub, it’s the same with all planes that I’ve tested.
Has anyone else noticed this? I saw a few streamers who showed the new G3X, and they don’t seem to have this issue.
Any ideas?
Any chance of a conflicting third-party mod?

I’m not seeing this on the default JMB VL-3 (see pics in my post in that thread), nor the default NXCub.
As @Vibstronium mentioned in this post and others in the VL-3 topic, issue is probably due to a mod conflict.
It’s the same with the red bull XCub, a known issue which wasn’t fixed before the beta was released.
For the red bull XCub issue is not a mod conflict, just that it has not been upgraded yet to the G3X.
Will check that, thanks.
It is indeed an issue with a mod. The brightness is okay when the Community folder is empty.
However, the G3X still places me in the middle of the Atlantic west off the African coast, and i need to manually re-center it on the plane in order to show the proper part of the world.
Anyone got any mods they suspect of making the G3X behave this way?
Hey I found a fix for the non-functioning GPS. After clearing out my Community folder of all 3rd party Liveries (that are usually the culprits), in the end the problem child livery was one I’d installed via the Orbx app. I think it was one of the France VFR livery collections. Good luck! Hopefully this’ll fix it for you as well.
Thanks for the info, but that can’t be it for me, I don’t have any liveries via Orbx, nor France VFR. But starting with checking the liveries may be a good point, I don’t have that many anyway.
Thanks again!
If you have many addons the best way to find the culprit is the fifty-fifty approach. Try only one half of your addons and then other. If the issue only happens in one of those two halfs, then divide this half in two halfs again. Rinse and repeat until you’ve narrowed it down to the addon that causes it.
It beats testing each addon individually, especially with MSFS’ loading times.
That’s classic engineering approach, bracketing.
I think I have identified the culprit, it seems to be the Bush League Legends Xcub performance mod. If I remove it, the G3X looks normal.
Just hope that the BLL mod will be updated, it added a lot to the XCub, which is one of my favorite planes.

Can someone please guide me on how to set the climb rate fpm in JMB VL-3 G3X now, after the avionics update, since there is no FD panel to do so?

The ETE has disappeared as well. Any ideas?
There is no AP (at least in the vanilla model).
Menu → Menu → Setup → Data Bar → Data Fields

There was AP in the older version of the G3X on this aircraft. I have flown it for a very long time.
-
Thank you. I will follow your lead to find the ETE field.
The AP in the JMB VL-3 was enabled by an older mod, which no longer works with the updated G3X. The stock VL-3 didn’t previously have any AP control (at least, on purpose!)
IIRC the GotFriends Vertigo, which is based on the VL-3 with an overpowered turboprop installed, specifically enables the autopilot.
There may or may not be newer mods which fix the AP on the stock VL-3 on the new G3X, but I haven’t checked.
It shows a blank screen saying:
Touch Data Bar Field to change.
Touch the screen to go back.
I go back and then press the data field again and the above message displays again.
Please advise.
Here you go.
Thank you.
I cannot respond on that thread, I want to know how to show the ETA on the PFD.
I have been to the Data Fields into the Menu, but there is no option to show Data Fields. No Data Fields are visible, only their maximum number, which is 8. And those 8 do not show ETA
Any advice?
