GAIST Global AI Ship Traffic V6 and Great Lakes

He wrote that the new yachts also got some preprogrammed offline routes.
About sailboats: in my understanding, they are autogenerated and can be seen in the vicinity of yacht harbours. You could install Mamu’s Marinas - that brings a massive increase of small boats.

I guess Seafront Sims’ packs would do a similar job?~

How is GAIST now? I believe the latest version is 7? How does it compare to Seafront’s Global Shipping?

I managed to see the 2nd largest Mobile Sea Crane in the world, SSCV Thialf while she was in Newport RI on Sunday, executing a crew change. She’s since moved on to her work location setting up Wind Farms south of Long Island NY. I’m wondering if the SSCVs are modeled and how I could find it. I went to the exact location she’s pinging using AIS today but it was just merchant traffic.

It appears you misunderstood what I was implying. I am using GAIST with 2024. If I use Real Time Online, I don’t see any sailboats in New York Harbor or the San Francisco Bay.

However, if I use AI Offline, I see sailboats in both New York Harbor and the San Francisco bay. I am posting about the largest sailboat models GAIST uses.

I could, but I am avoiding spending money on payware for now except for a few other things I am waiting to come to the 2024 marketplace.

Marinas is WELL worth the tiny cost. It’s my most favourite mod. If I could only keep one that would be the one. Oh and “powerlines” as a close second.

For some reason I thought it was $30. I had it confused with something else. Do you know if it’s coming to the 2024 Marketplace. I tried to buy it both on his website and simmarket but PayPal isn’t working.

Never mind, I bought it directly from the developer.

This alone makes it worth it!

I did the same yesterday. Turns out I can’t purchase anything from SimMarket due to some situation with taxes. Anyway, great addon - I got the powerlines as well

I remember when I had my old rig with MSFS 2020 I would get stutters using Powerlines. Is that issue fixed in 2024?

i don’t get stutters with Powerlines in SU3 beta

Hi Henrik,

I found the Fairchem Katana tanker in it’s current location in the Bahamas but the Symphony of the Seas, which is near the Fairchem Katana only shows the nameplate but can’t see the ship (same for the Utopia of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas shows up fine). Why is this?

And the MSC Seascape shows up as a container ship

Also found the Carnival Conquest

Is this something an end user could manually alter? Or be moddable through the community folder?

I have found running in Real Time Mode with the ship setting on Ultra helps with draw distance.

What’s weird is the draw distance is good using AI Offline mode but then I don’t see nearly as many ships.

Is it essential to disable the default ships in the simulator for proper real-time operation?

I see a lot of yachts and leisure boats in inland lakes. I guess it is MSFS2024 default Sea Traffic, as I see them both with Real Time and Offline AI. Anyone know how to disable them?

In the marketplace go to your library and search for ships. I disabled all of them.

Gotcha, thank you!

i haven’t done this, but I guess it makes sense to do so
i thought GAIST would replace all the default ship models automatically

GAIST adds to the default models. One thing to note, even if you disable all the default models there will still be some default models shown if using Real Time Online.

@Zadma posted about it here.

 I was just about to comment this, you beat me to it
