GAIST - Too many luxury yachts on the water in MSFS-2024

Hi, I am wondering why I see so many luxury yachts with activated GAISTv6 or v7 in MSFS2024. In addition to the cargo ships and ferries. But the big yachts don’t suit small lakes and bays in and around Germany. Has anyone else noticed this? Are these Asobo ships that are added when you set Ship Traffic to high? Before I activated GAIST, I saw it every now and then, but the ship setting was on low or medium, so it wasn’t a big deal.

Hi, yes, same trouble. Not only are big boats all around places where they shouldn’t be. Take Lake Ulemiste as an example of the runway 08 approach to EETN (who in their right mind would bring the VIP yacht there lol, the lake is so small and has no navigation to the sea at all!), but the big container ships are also moored in peculiar places sometimes really spoiling the picture, where they physically can’t fit or get into by waterways. I already changed settings to “High”, but still the same :frowning: Thinking about disabling GAIST completely, which is a shame, as it makes the sea and oceans more alive.

Same here, not sure if this is a GAIST or MSFS problem.

Noticed the same, there aren’t even any boats allowed there. Only Antonov AN26s :upside_down_face:.

Personal Comments and Observations

I would use a utility that reads the SimConnect attributes of those ships - like Little Nav Map. It should read in their descriptions if they’re MS-generated or belong to GAIST.

I have the same problem. Luxury yachts everywhere including small rural rivers… I think it’s a Combination of GAIST and MSFS. I read on a different forum that disabling yachts in the library solves the issue but I am unsure of what package that is

I tried disabling them in SU3 beta and it did absolutely nothing. Should try again now SU3 is out.

I don’t know if anyone else tried but without GAIST I still get the big yachts so this appears to be a MSFS issue. Offline and online, same results.

yeah this is a default 2024 issue.
