Game Freeze With Rapid Head Movement

Started happening just recently. If I move my head rapidly the sim freezes. Track IR enabled or not. Happens with mouse as well. I can look around very slowly just fine, but as soon as I snap my head in any direction, the sim hangs and must be restarted via Task Manager.

Anyone else seen this?

If you’d used the Search function, you would have been aware that this is a known bug with SU7 …

I did, and I obviously missed it. Thanks.

Well, I take that back. I don’t see anything similar in the SU7 known issues. Perhaps you could point me to it?

NVM. I think I fixed it.

Sorry. My mistake. I misread.
Glad you found a solution

same issue - I link it to (mouse)drivers.
When I go native with Logitech Mouse/Key no issues. I can leave it alone for 30 min (not tried longer)
Whe I use MS Mouse after some time (3-5 min) the game freezes, sometime it ‘jumps’ ahead after 3 - 10 sec, in 30% CTD. (when ATC on top 100% CTD)
Looks Mouse has some kind of idle state, the wakeup cost too much resources.
I do not have VR

Ah, nice to know. Thanks. I switched the graphics to DX12 and I got through a 30 minute flight without issues. I did not try longer. I’ll have a longer session today.

I had a similar-ish issue, for me it was the newest Nvidia driver, I rolled it back to the previous one and now sorted.

I am having the same problem. It freezes every time I pan around in the flight deck or do an external view. I have not been able to fix it. Any ideas to fix?

Same problem here, CTD when looking around with the mouse. Working fine in VR though.

I did a couple things at once, so I’m not sure. But I updated my mouse driver, and changed my MSFS graphics to DX12 Beta.

Interesting… I started having issues today after updating my NVidia driver to latest. If I try to look to the side while in cockpit camera, my game would freeze. Looking at the FPS window, it would say Limited by GPU. Also Event Viewer would have 0x00000005 and points to d3d11.dll. After reinstalling the driver (clean install, but still latest) I could still repro the crash 100% of the time. I switched to DX12 (Beta) and haven’t had any crashes in the last hour. My next choice was to revert to the previous NVidia driver as well since it all started happening since I did the update a few days ago, but seems that DX12 works for now, but glad to know that older driver also works

Also worth pointing out that the GPU usage would spike to 100% just before the crash, so not sure what the deal is with this version of the NVidia driver.

3 hours later, game still running with DX12 (Beta) with 0 crashes… although 3 hours later my FPS dropped significantly, but that’s probably because beta

Funny, I’ve since gone back to DX11 and it has remained fixed. I have gone to 4K and was crashing in DX12 when I popped out an instrument view. So I went back to DX11 and now that’s fixed and the crashing on head movement has also not happened again.

Hello , I also have the same problem of freeze and RTD when changing point of view either in cockpit mode or external view… track ir or not,
still no solution?

No, I figured I’d try again with the next sim update.
