Game launches on wifi but gets stuck on ethernet

Hi all - be greatful for any help.

  1. New computer. Fresh install of 40th premium deluxe.
  2. Game gets stuck on loading progress bar at 80% and never completes loading on ethernet.
  3. Unplug ethernet, switch on wifi. Game loads no problem.

Related findings:

  1. Downloading or updating the game over ethernet stalls frequently and winds down to zero then evetually starts up again.
  2. Over wifi it works and downloads continuously.
  3. Downloading a 20gb game in Steam over ethernet hits 100MB/s (gige) and stays there, so its MSFS or msstore/xbox specific.
  4. I initially thought the problem was a buggy I226-v chipset on my MOBO so i added a PCIe GigE card. DOH. Same problem. Other games, apps use ethernet at GigE speeds. MSFS stutters on big downlaods and wont launch.

Any ideas?

  1. Restart xbox authorization?
  2. Log out of xbox app on old pcs?

What an amazing bug. Works on wifi, not on ethernet. Sheesh!!!
